( Resident Evil 15th Anniversary - Fifteen years ago, on March 30th, 1996, a game by Capcom would be released in North America that would forever change the video game world and would give rise to the genre we now know as survival horror. Resident Evil, originally released as Biohazard (the name was changed locally due to trademark issues) in Japan on March 22 the same year, set new precedence for what horror video games would be judged by gamers everywhere. The game managed to blend in the right amount of action, knee-jerking moments and thought provoking puzzles to keep gamers on their toes and always thinking of what the next step will be. Horror titles may not have been anything new in 1996, but after Resident Evil it was a whole new genre.
