Church wants BAFTA to withdraw Resistance: Fall of Man nomination

Earlier this year, Sony sent a letter of apology to the Church of England over using Manchester Cathedral as a setting for Resistance: Fall of Man without permission. "It was not our intention to cause offense by using a representation of Manchester Cathedral in chapter eight of the work," the letter said. "If we have done so, we sincerely apologize." Now, the Church of England is pleading with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to withdraw the game from a list of seven contenders for the academy's video game award. According to the Associated Press, the category Resistance: Fall of Man is listed in is the only one in which fans will decide the winner. (Industry, PS3, Resistance: Fall of Man)
