Gears of War Movie Could Be Cancelled

A few months ago, IESB reported that Len Wiseman was in negotiations to direct the Escape from New York remake and also Gears of War.

The big news today, that started over at AICN, is that Len Wiseman will no longer be directing Escape and that Brett Ratner has replaced him.

The IESB contacted a source over at New Line, the studio behind the film, and was able to confirm the story which is no longer a rumor but instead 100% fact. Brett Ratner will take over directorial duties on the remake.

***UPDATE***: IESB later clarified with their source, the status of Gears of War. Yes, Chud, Len Wiseman is still on the project currently, but it doesn't look good, due to the budget concerns the studio has, New Line will most likely not be moving forward on this film.

You can't say this is confirmed. Its a rumour! It is news, but you really have to change the title. It'll be somewhat of a joke if this gets approved

Nothing is confirmed and you have altered the title from the one previously posted.

Wrong story type
Should be
LOL. It's listed as a "rumor", but then the title says "confirmed". A "confirmed rumor". LOL.

Hm. Okay. Read closely. Nothing is canceled here. Ratner Replaces Wiseman for 'Escape from New York', while the prospect of 'Gears of War' (according to the report) "does not look good".

So, the confirmation is for the change of director for the New York movie. On the other hand, the Gear movie is not moving forward is still a "speculation" = rumor, and it's not "confirmed" canceled. In fact, the word "canceled" is not even in the article.

The story is too old to be commented.

this might be too bad. if they would have used the same process they used to make "300", this might have been pretty good.
