EA and Crytek, Please Delay Crysis 2 for PS3 writes: "The demo for Crysis 2 finally arrived on the Playstation Store yesterday, exactly one week prior to it’s retail release. Unfortunately, it wasn’t embraced as well as EA and Crytek hoped it would. To put it plainly, PS3 gamers are pissed, and for good reason."

that build could be real old lets all wait for the final product before we pass judgement

HebrewHammer2503d ago

Thats what I thought, but a demo just a week before release is what has me pretty worried.

I played on the 360 and the PS3 and can't hardly tell any differeces, on the PS3 it seems to take longer to find a match but the game looks pretty much the same on both consoles

but actually either version is very far in visual quality from Killzone 3, this looks just a little better than COD and not as good as Bad Company 2

EDIT: hit detection is a big problem but that happens on both versions

Lekumkee2503d ago

Seriously, it doesn't look as good as Killzone 3, who cares? It still looks good and it's not like this is the 1st game that the 360 had the better version. What if the gameplay was great? Are you guy gonna pass it up cause the 360 had the better version?

No, I'm passing it because what I played was crap. I don't give a rat's ass about what other versions look like, but what I just tested wan't fun, wasn't pretty and performed quite bad.

I don't care if it's final code or not, that's what they decided to put up for us to play and decide to buy it or not. Their calling not mine.

sorry but the ps3 version looks better !

and these are the reasons:

look at the comparison Pixel_Pusher posted. clearly the ps3 version has sharper textures! and not as much aliasing.

second, yes the background is not as much blurred on the xbox360 version versus ps3 version. but if you compare it with the pc version, it is blurred too! thats easy to explain, because it is an addiotion blur filter added to ps3 and pc versions, but absent from xbox360 version. the more you look far away the more it is blurred.

third. if you look at the comparison videos which were posted yesterday. you would notice, that some effects are absent from the xbox360 version, like the floating water in the toillet scene.

and i wonder, are ppl blind ? in reality its the opposite ! the ps3 version is better than the xbox360 version ! its unbelievable how many ppl twist this to their favour.

Crysis on PS3 looks incredible...Judge for yourselves...

Seriously, PS3 kids need to stop being like sheep. Just look how beautiful it looks. I've been playing this for quite a while on 360...this looks no different at all to that build. I have to say, I didn't think Crytek could pull it off on PS3, I stand corrected. Looks like I was wrong about Crysis on PS3...big surprise. Easily the best looking PS3 title...just look at the details on this

I was going to download it on PS3 but no need. This video is quite definitive for me. I already have it on 360 and will be buying this game day one...thanks Crytek, don't listen to fantards, they have an agenda.

i thought it was pretty good, a little dark but good.

These where the problems that where discovered in the demo:

•Framerates drops lower than 30 on many occasions.
•The server’s are unstable and laggy
•HUD bobbles a lot.
•The PS3 version runs at the resolution of 1024×720 which is sub-HD and looks poor.
•Some sequences cause temporary freezing issues.
•Hit detection has issues and do not register sometimes
•Broken Melee system
•Matchmaking issues, troublesome to find games.

I hope they fix it, other than that the demo is fun :)

Oldsnake0072503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

1024x720 is HD.

but Crysis 2 runs on a lower resulution than that.

Tachyon_Nova2503d ago

The HUD bobble is deliberate and you can change its amount.

BrianG2503d ago

While the PS3 version isn't true 720p HD, it's not far off from it. So don't think thats why the game looks "poor" to you.

If they made it 720p HD it would look almost the same.

Also both the PS3 version and Xbox version appear to be very unpolished. I honestly expected better a week before release. But I'll be checking up on it after release.

plb2503d ago (Edited 2503d ago )

No problems with PC version but hate the Motion blur/bloom and obvious start to begin 6v6, small maps...nuff said.

TheColbertinator2503d ago

Here is a real suggestion.

Cancel the PS3 and 360 version.Just make a true sequel to Crysis,no holding back.

plb2503d ago

Wont happen. Ms already paid them.

waterboy2503d ago

why not make a separate version for each platform

itsralf2503d ago

why go to the extra trouble when people will buy your cheap ports regardless?

Tyre2502d ago

it is a seperate some research 1st before stating here...they are build seperate simultanuous from 1 source the CryEngine 3...and they both look incredible...

Death2503d ago

Sales for the first game were low enough that the sequel needs to go multi-platform.

Tyre2502d ago

Don't state lies...Crysis 1 sold 3+ million...

Death2502d ago

The developer actually said this in an interview. I'm on my mobil right now, but if you can't find this on google pm me and I'll find the link for you.

Death2502d ago

"PC Play: How do you estimate the current state of the PC gaming industry? Some say that it's only a matter of time when it's going to finally die-off, the others say that "the big one" is only getting its comeback pace.
Considering Crysis is a PC-exclusive title, what do you think of its market reception and its future? Skeptics would say that it's pretty risky going PC-exclusive with such a high-profile title.

Cevat Yerli: It is certainly. We are suffering currently from the huge piracy that is encompassing Crysis. We seem to lead the charts in piracy by a large margin, a chart leading that is not desirable. I believe that’s the core problem of PC Gaming, piracy. To the degree PC Gamers that pirate games inherently destroy the platform. Similar games on consoles sell factors of 4-5 more. It was a big lesson for us and I believe we wont have PC exclusives as we did with Crysis in future. We are going to support PC, but not exclusive anymore."

This was an interview about a year after the games release. Around that time they hit the 1 million sales mark. In 2010 the game did reach sales of 3 million which is still below the expectations had it been multi-platform.
