Gears of War movie is "enormous"

Script writer Stuart Beattie spills beans on the film adaptation of Epic's shooter.

The Hollywood scriptwriter given the responsibility of penning the silver screen adaptation of Epic's Gears of War has said that movie will be an "enormous film."

Stuart Beattie, whose writing credits include Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, explained that it's likely the Gears movie will be shot entirely on green screen like 300.

"There's no way to build that world any other way, really," he said. "That's a huge world. It's a planet and it's a bubble and it's a building. It's an epic sci-fi war and an enormous film. To get it made at all, the only way to make it for a price is to be on a soundstage. But the game also has that look, which is really interesting, so I think it will dovetail really nicely."

please don't eff this up by giving it to a sh1tty director!

So true. So far, video game adaptations had decent to terrible directors. Don't people get it? Games are like Comic books. If you give them to bad directors you get Batman And Robin, Elektra and such BUT if you give them to good directors, you get Batman Begins and Spiderman.

I'm really glad to hear that. This will give the movie less limitations. They could get the locusts to look more real and less like a man-in-a-rubber-costume. And even better for the environment. Now they can get the look exactly how they want it. I have a good feeling about this. However, like dachiefsman stated, the wrong director can mess all this up.

Edit: Shhh... Blood. Don't say that name too loud. The Berserkers can pick up vibrations very well. If they even "feel" you say that name, they'll run in fear. That director can scare the crap out of even the strongest creatures. :P Serious bro, that dude ruin gaming masterpieces by bringing them into the bigscreen.

"Well, we're not here to sell cookies".

Just some choice words that I thought should be excluded from the script.

I can not wait to see it. It is a movi that can easily impress the world or stink it up. Depends on how it is directed.
