Pokemon – What's next?

MMGN: Pokemon will continue to be one of Nintendo’s key franchises long into the future, but could be so much more in the immediate future. The updated version of Pokemon Black and White being released on 3DS is a great opportunity, but only if it’s done perfectly, otherwise it will be eaten alive by critics. Furthermore, the first console Pokemon RPG as a launch title for Nintendo’s next system is the perfect scenario, but one I doubt Nintendo will go for. Either way, there are two massive opportunities for the series, both of which Nintendo might ignore, and that’s before we even start to contemplate how they might go about freshening up what is essentially a 15 year old game. They have to do it eventually. (3DS, Nintendo DS, Pokemon Black and White)
