Did Bioware use too much from its Mass Effect franchise to redefine what Dragon Age is? I'll look at some of the ME inspired changes.
Its extremely similar to Mass Effect 2, except the graphics are nowhere near as good and it doesn't have guns. I was mostly surprised at how linear this game is, just like Mass Effect 2. I'm not talking linear as in the story, I mean all of the level layouts are linear. There are no open areas to explore, at all. There are like 7 or 8 different dungeons but they copied and pasted them over and over and over. So in reality you're playing the same layouts just with different objectives. Its the laziest level design I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong I've been having alot of fun with game but there are some seriously noticeable and annoying flaws with Dragon Age 2.
Yeah it was lazy level design and the game was rushed especially the story. You'll see a lot of DLC like no other bioware title for DA2.
@Focker429 - Well said that the truthfully review of this game in a nut shell. Its not bad but it could be better. 7.5/10
agree, I love da 2 as well....I'm already looking forward to 3.
I totally agree. I love the game and the characters, but the worst thing - by far - are the dungeons. Once you get into the second act of the game seeing the same freaking cave again really starts to grind on you
OR even better "You got COD 4 in my Every COD released to this point"
That has nothing to do with anything about this topic. Why would you post such nonsense? Trying for a combo breaker or something? Geez. OT: You know, I was considering getting this game, but have heard nothing but bad things for like a week straight now. Probably going to be passing it up.
Don't know and don't care, Dragon Age 2 plays alot better than the first one and I have seen less problems with it to. I just hope the add ons aren't lame.
"look what they've done to my oatmeal!"
The bar animation is the same as the one they use in Mass Effect 2. The same sip it down and shake head animation.
I definately think DA II could have used another 3 to 6 months to incubate. But if you take a look at the size of DA II at least on the 360, it is 6.5g. Which is exactly the same size as Origins. I don't no if it was that they just decided to leave certain things out or if it was a means to an end to meet there budget constraints. Where there are certain things missing like companion armor there are other things that have been added like the voiced protagonist, move to point (consoles), better graphics (at least better than Origins), etc.
Haven't played Mass Effect, but I can say for sure, Dragon Age 2 has tooooooo many reused environments.
