Gameplanet discusses Bungie's use of Havok Physics. More after the jump.
It's a good engine, wouldn't mind seeing it in more open ended sandbox games of the future.
Oblivion uses Havok....
Havok is also used in PS3 games too. Motorstorm is one example
motorstorm sucked and Halo kicked ass!
For some reason I have liked all games that I have played with havok. Halo1,2 and 3 all use it.
GRAW2, Motorstorm, basically all the games I can think of by Havok have been darn good. Agree.
Grenades on snowbound...
I love the physics of Halo 3.
Man Cannon+vehicles*(rockets)=Insa netacular
Isn't there a Wii title coming out that uses havok? The carnival one I think...
Just another example of Halo 3 getting touted for being nothing special.
PhysX is a pretty good middleware too
Havoc and PhysX work together. Ghost recon2 uses Havoc and PhysX.
The best game for Havoc is Heavenly Sword. "It pushed the engine farther then any other game." The Havoc team said that. Also Havoc has been bought by INTEL about a month ago.
Some people argue that the Unreal3 engine is better.
But not many can argue that the Crytec engine will pwwwwn all:)
Halo 3 physics are about as good as gamecube Pokemon physics
Bah, Half-Life 2 came out HOW long ago? And we are just barely seeing games come out that actually use physics to impact the GAME PLAY instead of just being eye candy. Those games being heavenly sword, bioshock, CRACKDOWN.
Seriously....the physics in halo 3 are worthless. YAY get to watch your body ragdoll just before getting tea-bagged. Just watch how Master Cheif's balls accurately roll off your chin as you madly hit the button to respawn as quickly as possible.
Too bad Doom 3 doesn't take advantage of it's own physics engine. It was actually pretty decent, but you would never know it.
