Superhero Fighting Game PowerUP Heroes Coming To Kinect This Summer

Thanks to the Twitter user superannuation we have details for an unannounced Kinect game from Ubisoft called PowerUP Heroes.

The game sees you turn your Xbox Live Avatar into a superhero in a fighting game that uses your whole body and voice to control various power suits. The game also features 2 player co-op with online battles.

Here's all of the details found on the Ubisoft store site:

PowerUp Heroes

The universe is in peril—and it’s up to you and your Xbox 360 avatar to eradicate the forces of evil. PowerUP Heroes is an explosive, super power infused, full body fighting game for Kinect. Take your Xbox360 avatar and power it up into a superhero and face off against ballistic super villains. Obliterate your enemy and seize their super suit and abilities to use in your next battle! Use the Necromancer suit and control a horde of skeletons or slip on the Mentalist suit to break into your enemy’s mind and much more!

Become the Hero!

• You Are The Superhero — Live out your dreams of becoming the ultimate hero by transforming your X360 avatar into a superhero, infusing it with powers and unleashing.

• Grow Stronger With Every Battle — Take on opponents each charged with a different set of deadly powers. Best them in battle to seize their super suits, strip them of their abilities, and wield their power for the next battle!

• All In Gameplay — Use your entire body to control how you fight: strike forward to launch projectiles, yell commands to initiate super moves and have a friend hop in and unleash double powered super assaults.

• Four Player Action — Experience the two-player co-op or go online and battle your friends in a four-player face-off. Display your dominance with online leaderboards and achievements.

Releases: Summer 2011

I am liking the sound of this.

Using your Xbox Live avatar as the hero is brilliant. If this is pulled off right, it could be a Kinect seller.

I would rather use my self as the hero instead of my avatar.

See attached Vid.

I think MS needs to give some of these hackers a developers kit.

If ubisoft can pull this off then HELL YES!!!

Lol there can be ONLY ONE

This would be exciting if it wasn't being made by the guys gave us Uncaged Fighters.
Still, this sounds very exciting to be honest, I like games that involve Avatars, sounds silly but I do. Here's hoping it's actually good

If this is done right this could actually be pretty cool. I'll wait until I see some gameplay to really decide how I feel on it.

didn't ubisoft publish fighters uncaged? if so they have a up hill battle for quality kinect titles

FrogLobby2686d ago

It doesn't matter that Ubisoft have published a bad Kinect game; they didn't develop it. AMA Studios developed Fighters Uncaged, so unless this game is made by AMA Studios you can't use that title as a basis to worry.

I think Ubisoft are happy to publish shovelware crap if they think it'll sell, but they're also willing to fund and publish some great titles. Which of the two this will be, we'll have to wait and see.

it does matter they put there name on the box. logo/brand recognition. It says something about there quality. If you take marketing you learn about customer perception.

FrogLobby2686d ago

They're a major publisher. Like most, they publish bad games and good games. It is still ridiculous to pick out the bad games in order to form a conclusion about any new IP, especially when you have no idea who is creating the game. Saying that it is an "uphill battle" for this to be of any quality at this stage in our knowledge of the title is utterly hyperbolic. It's only logical to be entirely neutral until we know more.

Ubisoft also created Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, one of the best Kinect games and arguably the most impressive use of the tech. They actually developed that one, so if anything you should have more faith.

its not picking out the bad its picking out the recent!! fighters unchaged is not old. Also this entire generation ubisoft has become a shadow of there former self. Not a leader in any genre. I dont know if top level management has change but they fell off. its seems like there publishing focus is quantity over quality. but i guess only time will tell. I hope they improve. child of eden ubisoft looks good but i'd like to see a good ghost recon and rainbow six. More splinter cell
