Midway and Epic have released the system requirements for UT3, and it doesn't look half bad. Especially since you've already upgraded your rig for Crysis.
I don't even try to keep up anymore. That's why I bought a console. I'm getting older and lazier and don't feel like busting open my case every six months to drop a new component in it.
Yeah, but who wants to be playing that game on minimum settings?
I mean, think about what minimum really means. 800*600, no shadows, no HDR, no AA or AF, almost no decal limit stay, no particle effects... It will not be anything close to the screenshots available.
Wow, they are rather low for a game considered to be the best looking UE3 game. Epic rules. They did the same with UT2004 and made it run smooth on much older graphics cards and now they are supporting GeForce 6200!! Looks like my PC has finally found a game (With PS3 version being delayed, I have to get the PC one. Can't wait).
That is "required" so basically low end.
mate if your computer is around those specs id recommend you hold out for the ps3 version!
those specs will give you 600x400 res at all low settings, this is a game you dont want to see unless its maxed out, playing it another way than that will surely spoil the experience for you.
edit @ MK... lol dude i understand, i feel the same about UT, well maybe pick it up on the pc, then when the ps3 version is released it'll be like a getting a whole new UT again! have fun my friend! ill be fragging your ass before you know it!
I know the game will look terrible on my pc but I'm a UT addict and still worshiping original Unreal Tournoment. God, I can't wait but I don't want to miss those stunning visuals.
I can run this game but what should I buy it on if I want it to run to fullest :/ PS3 or PC? X360 Version don't count due to having missing stuff due to DVD9
if its any good go for the pc everytime, but by good i mean at least core 2 duo (2.4ghz min), 8800gts/x1950, at least 2 gig of ram etc etc 'system requirements' are pointless unless your happy to run it at 600x400 res with everything set to minimum (im sure you dont).
if your pc doesnt live up to that id recommend the ps3 version, its visuals will be on par with the pc, you also get the MOD support, keyboard & mouse support and so on. plus you get to play it on a nice big tv rather than a monitor! im lucky, my monitor is 24in, and when your sat a foot away from it thats plenty big enough!
hope this helped, basically if you dont think you'll be able to max it out on your pc then get the console version and let Sony max it out for you!
My PC is hooked up with my HDTV >_> I can play PS3 and use PC at same time lol PIP
my pc will eat that alive, ill have UT3 in one window and crysis in the other!! well probably wont.
4 gig ddr 3 ram
24in 1080p monitor
muhahahaha its my baby! dont let the miss's know that tho.
I knew you were that fat kid that plays 24/7 and has mommy bring you hotpockets.
wtf, FirstknighT? does you mommy know, that you like to insult other people?
recommended Requirements : PS3 ..... Check
I'd take those infamous, so-called "minimum requirements" with a grain of salt.
But I feel compelled to give some hefty credit to Epic and their legendary Unreal engine: I was able to quite-smoothly enjoy the bliss of a networked Unreal Tournament 2004 setup, using my slightly-overclocked PIII-700 and a GeForce 2 GTS video card!
Granted, the optimal resolution capped at 800x600, but fast, fluid-like and gorgeous nonetheless.
I have faith that UT3 is gonna be no different. However, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna opt for the PS3 version...never was a console FPS fan, but ever since Resistance: FOM...well that wonderful game just "did something" that has me craving more PS3 FPS action...the mouse/keyboard support don't hurt either!
In any other case, I automatically interpret "Minimum Requirements" to mean:
"OK, so this is what you need to technically START UP the game. Such a hardware configuration used in tandem with this game will grant you the wonderful ability to experience captivating medium-resolution still-image screen savers of the original game. Also, you will be subject to a funky audio "re---re-re--re--mix& quot ; of the original audio which will sound nothing like the original game, and will stutter differently each time you run it! Now, how cool is that, you lucky, lucky dog!
Oh, by the way: if you want to actually PLAY the game...well don't even bother trying with that puny setup; we just don't want you and your underpowered system to feel left out."
I bet I can't play tjos on my Athlon1Ghz+ :D
