The other day GameFa reported by way of CVG that Shigenobu Matsuyama, one of two directors to play MGS: Rising, that Shigenobu actually said that the PS3 version of MGS: Rising is better than the other two versions! OTHER TWO VERSIONS!! as far as I
If its got move support of course its going to be the best version, and its probably lead platform so the pc will be a port. BF3 will lead on PC, so get over it.
The PC version needs Razer Hydra support then, it's only fair.
Even if its not official Hydra can be added. The PS3 version will not be better unless they purposely mess the PC version up.
Even though it's Kojima productions making it, I have to go with what has occured in the past. Multiplat games usually have issues when it comes to Ps3! If Kojima productions can figure out a way to get around that and make all 3 games good, then who cares about which version is best!
I'm sure they're not just referring to the graphics or super high resolutions.
why does everything have to deal with graphics...what they meant was that the PS3 will have more content since the MGS games have been on Playstation since PSX...so more story lines, different historical facts, in game scenes i presume that deal with past games...
This games comin to pc? Who would have thought... Meh
Why is it that when a site like Gametrailers who has been caught putting out biased information that they are instantly believed, but when a developer states a fact that goes against what you believe, it's instantly wrong?
If PS3 gets a bunch load more content than the other versions......maybe.
If not then no. The translation seemed to point to PS3's hardware as giving that version the edge- something which obviously a decent PC would have no trouble beating soundly. Which throws into question the original comment really and speculation of additional content. Problem is, its just from an offhand comment and as we all know subtlety can get lost in translation.
PC should get a few extra jobbies, probably at least 3D if PS3 gets move as is likely. Razer support would be interesting.
MGS2 was a little dated when it came to PC, but i was impressed with it when i played it in 1080p all those years ago, it blew the console versions into the weeds as you would expect as they were in SD. Hopefully rising will be a decent port.
LOL, better because of Move support?
That team built their engine around the PS3 so they are building the game off that, but don't believe those slippery words of 'PS3 has the power we need', if they were building it on PC they'd have a lot more power, we all know that.
Maybe so, but the mgs series has always been better on playstation because it's where the series started.
elmaton98 I believe MGS started on Nintendo @nolifeking thank you I ment to say the Metal Gear series started somewhere else I know MGS started on the original Playstation
@cereal No, it started on the msx. Plus, MGS did start on the PS1.
Cereal Killa.... looooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
Metal Gear was on the original Nintendo.
i know this is off topic but i just wanna spread the word... I'm sorry if what i'm about to say is common knowledge but i do quite a bit of reading on the net extra and i've never seen it before today, so please excuse my ignorance if it's already known... Anyway omg just found out how to DOWNLOAD YOUTUBE VIDS! using only the ps3 browser! And in HD NO LESS! lol... Anyone interested to know how? Lmao... Or am i an evil pirate? Ha ha. I'm blown away by this to be honest! But i bet you all already know about it lol.
I've sent you a pm dude :-)
Ummm...what about me?!! :)

Done and done fellas :-) enjoy lol...
And me, good sir.
Done gman :-)... Oooooo seems some people are upset that we can do this! Pmsl ha ha... Keep the disagrees coming lol ha ha.
Yep http://www.ps3youtube.com/ :)
You got it :-) but to be honest i wouldn't just plaster it around like that, that's how these sites get shut down... There are plenty of jealous people about dude... Try and keep things a little more low key ay... Awesome site though, i'm even considering donating to them :-).
yea i wouldnt mind knowing how thanx in advance :)
so that means Portal 2 is better on pc! yay! motion control with extra levels made for the controller!! it even has two joy sticks! http://www.youtube.com/watc... & the game is $44 on pc yay! again.. MGSR will probably suck anyawy..
How does that mean anything?
Did you post an answer to the wrong article...? You seem confused about the topic.
When has a franchise like MGS been important to pc gamers, there is no way i would buy this game on pc. I am happy with dawn of war 2, duke, some battlefield and the better version of crysis 2. This just sounds like mentally disturbed xbox fans are becoming pc gamers LOL. @tretton Do you even game on pc? Dont see you talking about steam etc The game revolves around sword swipes literally if you dont think that is a good fit for move you probably havent tried it.
I'm a metal gear fan...I own everyone of them and I would buy it on PC just for the higher res,AA, and framerate alone...besides I'd rather play with a Novint Falcon than a move controller...
No I don't game on PC (modern games anyway), that doesn't mean I have to look at life blindly like the PS3 is my religion that I must meaninglessly support. Truth is my religion.
I own Move.
how many people actually believed this title was coming to the pc. I highly doubt a pc version is in the works given that Konami doesn't have it on it's website. http://konami.com/games/met... CVG will do anything to discredit anyone who paints ps3 in a positive light. They were first one to claim that Killzone3 had only 5hrs of SP campaign. I've been gaming for awhile and I've have yet to see the Metal Gear Solid franchise on the PC without an emulator.
It's been widely known for a long time that there will be a PC version.
MGS1 and 2 were released on PC, those weren't emulators.
@Biggest, google 'Metal Gear Solid Rising PC'
THANK YOU! It took this long for someone to mention this fact. You can't pre-order the PC version. . . Because there is no PC version. I was wondering the same thing in the first thread about this issue. Some of the usual suspects are even starting down the "It's gonna suck anyway" path after being happy as pie when it was first announced. The game is not on the PC. Naturally, the people that already made a PS3 MGS will make another to be at least just as good. The original is unmatched by the 360. The new version will probably explain why.
Sorry bro, but just because you can google something doesn't make it true. You can goole "Halo ps3" but that doesn't mean that Halo is on the ps3. You also just posted mock ups of fan made cover art. It's not hard to take the cover art of the original MGS and place common PC logos that you find on PC games cover art. Anyone with GIMP or Photoshop can do this no problem. I'm pretty sure that every search you find with " MGS Pc" is probably is in some forum.
Agreed. Most likely the 3rd version is not PC but rather 3DS or NGP.
Watching the blade cutting videos makes me think this would benefit greatly from Move support. I wish this was a PS3 exclusive.
Who cares? As long as all versions of the game are great I don't care if pc version looks better, Pc will always have better graphics but I have most of my friends on ps3 so I get all my games on ps3 and I don't have a gaming pc that can play the newer games.
If the gameplay is better suited for controllers, then yeh.. Otherwise Sony would have had to have cut some deal. Simple the horsepower of some computers will always top consoles
How hard is it to plug a controller into a PC?
Touche... Well in that case I'd assume that Sony would of had to have gotten involved for it to top the PC performance and/or graphics wise.
How many people that game on PC have a gamepad on hand? Regardless of the fact that gamepads are cheap, how many actually go out and get them over kb&m on most PC games? The only other ones are those that own either a wired 360 controller or a PS3 controller, and even then how many of those users at that point decide to get PC versions of most games? It doesn't always relate to graphics in terms of overall quality. Yes PC gaming has very strong points over console, but lets get serious here. If a dev FOCUSES on a SPECIFIC platform, it's going to perform better than the others.
Radphil. I have no wired controllers just ps3 controllers and i use them just fine to game on my pc. when it seems to work better than a kb or mouse or when i want to play laying down. either way if a game is available for more than one system i would ABSOLUTELY NO QUESTIONS choose to get the pc version it uses all of the pixels on my monitor. and it plays smoothly with no slowdowns. the only games i have for ps3 is gt5 heavy rain and kz2. the best of the best the system has to offer.
@reedbananaboat The point i'm getting across is that there's people out there that focus on console gaming, that haven't touched PC gaming, and vice-versa. Too many people just think that because they don't apply to the situation that everyone else doesn't either. Plus it's not always true of the PC version of games being better than console. I can think of a few capcom games that I was disappointed with in terms of their performance for example. Chaos Legion was one.
Yeah it's pretty annoyihng plugging my Ps3 controller into a PC and stuffing around with Motioninjoy, that doesn't actually seem to work for some reason. Everything PC is bloody annoying. I just sold my good HW and downgraded to some simple parts that can still browse, but are very quiet while doing it. PC can go stuff it now, I'm sticking to consoles.
360 controller is fairly common on PC now. Who says that a controller is required for the game anyway? Who says that a controller is going to be the best way to control this game either? Why would a controller instantly be the automatic best choice for this game?
I like to have the choice. If PC gives the choice between controller options and keyboard, mice whatever then it certainly wouldn't be anything to do with control methods, as Pc would like it often does have the best of all worlds. Personal preference may be one or the other but if you have both then everyone is happy. Previous MGS games on PC have had pad support. So its all cool.
Its usually true the PC versions win technically. As the consoles are so old i doubt there are many worries over performance. Chaos legion for example came only a few years after PS2 was out, and PC gamers expected to run it in resolutions massively outstripping the SD PS2 era of the time. So the performance gap between the platforms had not widened quite as much and the demands of PC relative to console was far higher. Most demanded at least 1024 x 768 from a game that pushed a not very old console @ 640 x 480.
The reasons that Ps3 might be the best version are more likely to just be personal ones, like plug and play. Technically i doubt hugely any console version can be the best after all these years since their launch now.
If PC's are so great then why not just abandon consoles altogether? You all need to understand not everyone thinks and feels the same. I for one have never liked gaming on PC's, it just never felt right. Maybe the graphics are better, so people say, but for me it about gameplay, accessibility, and convenience. PC's have to be updated and age rather quickly. They are also, in my experience, less stable over all and frustrating to use. A console turns on quickly and you are gaming in pretty much less than a minute, PC's take minutes just to boot up, some worse than others. Then maybe your PC decides it gonna not do what you say, or take 4 minutes just to open a program. I mean you never had to wait 4 minutes for Windows to open up internet explorer? That shit is frustrating. I can imagine how long it must take for games to boot up...
Preference is fine Instinct Gamer. I have no problem with people saying they prefer console because they simply feel like it, or because its easier to setup, because i don't think there is any argument there.
However please do not pull down PC if you don't really have all the facts. It seems like you have not used a PC to game for a long time, or even used a PC at all for many years. Times have moved on a fair bit, its clearly not like console but its been streamlined a lot in the past ten years thanks to clients like steam and easier to use, slicker, more stable operating systems and compliant hardware.
I will also vehemently dispute the idea that to play games on a computer you have to upgrade it so regularly, its a fallacy and a lie. Once your gaming computer is faster than a console then it'll stay faster than the console until a new generation hits. Being able to by choice makes upgrading a plus point and an advantage, not a disadvantage.
Your final conclusion is that you can only imagine how long games take to boot while claiming that programmes can take ages to open. Not that you actually KNOW how long games take to boot, only imagine.
Well having had a great deal of personal experience i can tell you that windows is so very stable these days and i have never, ever had to wait minutes to open a browser, nor more than a few seconds for a game to launch inside the operating system. If you did deal with computers a little more often these days, you too would come up with these same conclusions, i am sure.
... they're taking a little comment way too seriously. Just enjoy the game instead of picking out the little differences.
You do know that saying that to the fanboys around here is like telling a dog not to sniff and lick it's own butt hole.
nothing can ever be better than pc gaming.
Except dev's that don't have enough money to dedicate on rebuilds for the platform. kinda sucks really.
not even the air you breathe?
Not even Girls?? oh wait he's a computer dork, probably doesnt like girls yet
but without air, you dead D:
but life ain't worth living without PC gaming. =)
but it's also not worth living without air D: you gotta breathe maaaaaaan... feel the ether!
ROFLMAO!. PC gaming is gods gift to mankind. Gaming will not exist without PC gaming. Am I right PC fanboys?
Do we care...?
Who cares i just want more info on the game itself
Yes ! It's a japanse developer and a japanse hardware company with a very good past history , developers are moving towards PS3 do the aging 360 and lack of HDD and DVD9 is slowing down what game makers can do...
if its multiplat, chances are
1. PC (obviously)
when was the last time these devs made a MGS game on PC or a M$ console? Can't remember? exactly. They have extensive ps3 experience and if MGS4 was anything to go by, i'd say they know what their doing. PS3 confirmed superior version. Fanboys will still doubt though.
The last time they made a game on PC was the last time they made a game. Every game that is developed is developed on a PC. If it's developed for PS3 hardware then it's using a PS3 dev kit, on PC. That means a developer has to go out of their way to develop for consoles. And in the case of the PS3, this is pretty expensive because the architecture is very different. If the game is better on PS3, it's only because the PS3 development is holding the PC version back.
Dirty Beaver, You're exactly right. I posted a link to Konami's official website for Metal Gear Solid: Rising, and there is not mentioning of a PC version. People have always speculated a PC release about every MGS game released. http://konami.com/games/met... Look for yourselves if you think he's lying. There has never been a MGS release for PC.
MGS4 was sub HD (1024x768) and also has a lot of frame rate issues I'd say they still gotta lot to learn!!!!
etown, the 360 is weaksauce compared to the ps3
