Games That Set the Standard

"GDC 2011 has come and gone every time TheGamerAccess.com heard an announcement or the crazy thoughts and ideas coming from a keynote speaker, they thought about the games that moved the industry forward. The titles that to this day, aspiring developers should play and go “this is a true masterpiece that set a standard in the industry.” Here are the games TheGamerAccess.com think did that."

-TheGamerAccess.com (3DS, Game Developers Conference, GameCube, Halo: Combat Evolved, Metal Gear : Solid Snake, Nintendo DS, PC, PS Vita, PS2, PS3, PSP, Retro, Wii, World of Warcraft, Xbox, Xbox 360)

this is my opinion

FPS-HALO,counter strike
J/W RPG-The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time
Racing-(Sim Gran Turismo) (arcade mario kart)
MMO-world of warcraft
RTS- StarCraft
Action Adventure- GTA 3,and mario

Honorable mention - call of duty 4 and beyond yes not all people like the game (including me) but you can not disagree that call of duty is the largest video game out their and a lot of video game company's are trying to make clones or making comparisons to their game to call of duty. many are trying to take down call of duty down but it's a Juggernaut much bigger than Mario.
