Video games are going to dominate the freaking future. You'll see it in your own lifetime. Cracked.com takes a look into the future of video games to see what we will be playing in the next 25 years.
in five years what do you think people will nitpick in games graphically?
i personally am disappointed in this gen graphics on all system how much of a step up is it from the original xbox....
makes you think..especially when you factor in zeitgeist the movie ( http://www.zeitgeistmovie.c... )
Gaming is starting to stagnate. The lack of innovation is going to kill it.
How many First Person Shooters and driving games do we really need?
All the original games such as Okami, Godhand, Katamari, Ico, Shadow Of The Colossus are largely ignored by the casual gamer and as a result we see more and more games that lack imagination.
It's kind of like the music industry in a way. A tired cover-of-a-cover song by some "singer" from Pop Idol will stay at number 1 for 3 weeks while an original song from an upcoming band won't get noticed at all...
Thinkin....wow.... Look at the graphics on Final Fantasy 7. They will never surpass this. Not in a million years........
strange but true. now that graphics are more and more realistic (especially in terms of human characters) the better our eyes are at picking out the tiny details that make them not perfect.
So pong had the greatest graphics ever?
look it up.. uncanny valley.
no pong didn't even have human characters..
I kinda hope some of this stuff actually comes true. It would be wicked to experience some of this.
This is really a awesome article and make you think about it with lot of facts and photos, but on the contrary it might not be correct. You know every thing has a saturation point and it implies to video games too. Yeah but it will be also true that everyone in the world would be a casual gamer ( one who atleast play for 1-2 a week).
Man this stuff is so scary to think about.
I found the artical interesting to the point where it was scary thinking of that could and might actually happen. Especially when the NEw York Times guy says "mathematically we are almost certainly living in one of those simulations now." going on talking about simulations of babies, if you think about it the matrix is a horror story that could come true
just think how long into the future it will be when the government really steps in? iam not talking esrb i mean either complete ban on games or a complete takeover. thats how powerful games are. games like spore and ps3 home connect people in such a way that you could really get sucked in. eat and sleep in real life do everything and anything in a game/simulation... scary but cool
