oh how funny it was a few years back that EA was the evil empire. Gobbling up the smaller studios and making an exclusive deal with the NFL to block competition of other football games.
Now it's as if all that has been forgotten or overshadowed by Activision. yeah they may seem to be milking the COD franchise like EA is/was doing to Madden. You got to admit though. This is a company that stood by Atari and came through the other side to try and build themselves up to be one of the biggest companies in gaming.
Many companies would KILL for that chance to do that. Some have even given all they had to be there even if it didnt last (SEGA). Activision is just the current scape goat in this ever changing industry we all like to play. They certainly wont be the last to be in this negative light either.
and you know what even tho EA still milks the shit out of games like madden and fifa but still they are 100% better than Activision
at least EA is giving us quality games i mean this gen only they gave us mirrors edge. dead space 1 & 2 and BFBC 1 & 2 to name a few let alone PSN/XBL games like shank mad respect to EA
Darthv72... To be honest i never really got involved with the politics of gaming untill this gen... But anyway i don't have activision for milking cod, i hate them for several reasons, all the shit talking they did about the ps3 price, remember when cotick threatened to drop support for sony platforms if they didn't drop the ps3 price! I mean how retarded is that? Then to top it off shortly after making that stupid statement they bumped up the price of their over rated turd they call cod.. They make millions and millions off cod and still dont give a product that actually works! They still dont supply dedicated servers! They still use the same crap engine! And look what they did to tony hawkes... There are many reasons to hate this company, and i'm very proud to say this gen they have not seen a penny of my money :-)

There have been many companies on the chopping block. Some more than others (Microsoft) and yet it just becomes that more of a challenge to redeem themselves in the gamers eyes. If anything, they just say "F" it and stick to what works.
You either have to respect a company for sticking to their guns when everyone else slams them (Sony) or you lose respect for them for trying to adjust to please everyone (Nintendo). Nobody ever said gaming was about you or me. It's about them and business is business.
I don't agree with the tactics of how things are done but that doesnt mean it's wrong for the company. It's just wrong from my POV.
Yeah if i were an activision shareholder i would give them major props for how they managed to fool the general public... But to be honest i don't even think that was by design, i think they just got lucky then ran with it... Hence mw 2 and 3... However i'm not a shareholder, i'm a gamer, i couldn't give a damn how much money they've made really, i care about how they treat my fellow gamers... I personally haven't bought any of their games, i borrowed mw1 from a friend and that was mediocre in my opinion, and it's only been downhill from there... The gaming world would only benefit from them leaving the industry, but all the time their cod cash cow is making profit, that'll never happen, it's a sad state of affairs, but i'm just glad i research my games properly lol.
After they gained $1Billion from MW2, then turned around, and fired Jason West and Vince Zampella from IW... I lost all respect for them... dick move Activi$ion
I am so tired of Activision and the way they treat their games. They've made insane profits on COD but fail to properly support the games after release and fail to put up dedicated servers. Let's not talk about how they over-exploited Guitar Hero and now they've just abandoned it.
I'm just glad for all the alternatives coming out, especially Battlefield 3. I hope all the other publishers/developers are learning from Activision's mistakes.
i really wish they did pull online support it wouldve been funny at the backlash and lawsuits. I dont think you can stop CoD atm though its just too damn huge. hopefully by next year people will realise how bad it is. and hopefully activision will start some new ip's I mean cmon I cannot think of another game activision makes apart from CoD now.
Clearly most hardcore gamers dislike Activision but seeing how Call of duty is the best selling game every year casual gamers don't care what Activision does as long as they get their Call of duty fix. People are voting with their wallets and Activision is getting the message that people are willing to pay 60 dollars for unfinished games full of glitches and pay 15 dollars for few maps.
Yeah like wtf? Capcon? Really? Remember when they tried charging for outfits on streetfighter? How they tried to sell content that was already on the disc! They suck balls, and they're another dev that have not seen my money this gen! I would but them right next to activision actually.
i had negative one million respect over the shitty ps3 port of mw2 then negative 20 billion respect when THEY caused the price hike for xbl and then .............they cancelled true crime 3and now its just negaive infinite respect(if it works like that but ive never heard of negative infinity before so to be safe negative 999 billion trillion)
I actually really respect how well COD sells, i'm not sure why it does so well because the game hasn't been amazing since COD4 but even if you hate the game, you got to admit it's kinda weird and impressive at the same time why it sells so well.
Gamers are buying it, not the soccer moms that buy wii-fit. I'm really curious why it sells so well.

No, of course not. Lesson leared though, I will think twice before getting the next. Their will always be games that are "better" or "worse" than others. Trying to figure out which is which is what the intenets is for.
in my opinion it will always be significantly better for the console they can levy the most fees from. Even though i have both consoles most of my friends are on my ps3 and all this makes me sick
