UK retailer GAME has started offering pre-orders for pre-owned versions of upcoming releases.
GAME charge far too much for used games. They are a rip off.
Had the 15 year old checkout assistant ID me for trading in a bunch of 18 rated games today (Call Of Duty: Broke Ops being one of the many) That store is a joke. Never traded the games in, sending them to Amazon UK instead ;)
lol funny how they never ID when buying them, but trading in?
Whats even worse is you save less than five pounds and get hand-me-downs. You know you can buy these cheaper new at ASDA most of the time, and often with midnight release
- Haha, exactly. I'm trying to give them my damn games and they want proof of age? It's not like I'm not buying a bottle of Jack here son!
Legal requirement dude be less harsh on the kid. And on buying them off people you need 2 forms of ID as its classed as pawn brokerage.
I did the trade in at Amazon UK. Its fantastic!
Presumably that is the purpose of starting a pre order service for pre owned Games. Barely worth it IMO, will probably only save a few quid at most, might as well just buy a new copy. I have only bought pre owned when it is an older game when there are barely any new c.opies around
LOL this guys r a joke!!! had 1 guy trying 2 sell me a preowned copy of GT5, and he wuldnt take no for an answer saying how its better and sh1t lool
"It's not about taking money away from a publisher" Yeah right, why not give them some of the money you make on the pre-owned sales then?! Also, this new scheme is proving you care even less. Fuck GAME, the sooner that franchise closes the better.
Wishing for lots of people to lose their jobs is a tad harsh don't you think? However, I agree that their used prices are terribly over priced - ebay all the way for buying and selling used games. To be honest though, if you have the patience to wait a month or two, most new games go down to the £17-24 mark in a month or two at Amazon. Just got Mass Effect 2 for £23 new, going used for around 20 on ebay.
- I can't count the amount of times I've price checked something (anything from games to blenders) and Amazon are selling it for half the price compared to everywhere else.
Gamestop too.. Are they "GAME" your version of Gamestop? or are they the same?
we have gamestop here just not many because just about anywhere else that sells games is better lol we don't even get those deals they some times give they just rip you off 24 7
@ dangert12... Ah I see..... In other words they have the same ethics...
yep you could say that lol
Im sorry but I have to disagree, I believe that you should always try and get the best deal for YOURSELF. People sell on their stuff since the beggning of civilisation, but just because its a videogame all of a sudden its screwing companys out of profit? I might as well never sell on anything if that's the case. As far as im concerned once a game has made a sale the person who bought it can do what ever the hell he/she likes with it. If your customer isn't buying your game day 1, its probably because the game is not day 1 material in the first place. Company's should moan less about used game sales and actually ship fully working games that don't require day 1 patches or games that last a little longer than a single season box set, then maybe they have the right to bitch. ...and yeah Amazon is the best, for brand new and used games period.
I work for game and agree 90% the time our pre owned is a joke now and then u can Chet a good deal but it's rare. On the upside u get exact same warranty as new so that few quid can help people only thing ur not 100% guaranteed to get is any DLC codes. Also look carefully u can get new sealed games pre owned alot of the time
