The first Dragon Age could be difficult if you weren't familiar with party-based RPG tactics and Mike Laidlaw says he fixed that in the sequel.
Boo hoo. so the game was a little hard. Seriously? I found the game incredibly easy once you learned to set tactics. But getting rid of the squad fighting and making it a hack and slash isn't making the game easier. It's DESTROYING THE GAME.
casual treatment :(
Boo hoo set it to hard and move on. Some people look for any excuse to bash and cry. More options is a good thing, jjust like being able to toggle auto attack.
@TEETHING I had DA:O set to the hardest difficulty available and still found it easy. So if DA2 is going to be even easier than setting it to hard isn't going to solve the problem.
Agreed, and I really hate this gens excuse. Well we wanted to appeal to people unfamiliar to the genre. They have been doing that this whole gen, when are they going to show those newcomers what a true RPG is?
- http://www.shacknews.com/ar... "Insane difficulty" is for the adults now!! :) to bad some gamers are out of options hope Skryim delivers for them!! & me!!
All that swinging and dodging. Yet another button mashing action title, with no party based strategy, that is aimed at the fps crowd. I am talking about oblivion and skyrim. ;-)
Isn't that what difficulty settings are for...if you can't play a game on the easiest setting, just give it up. Games are supposed to have SOME kind of challenge. Mario didn't have difficulty settings, either you could play it or you couldn't. Maybe if people actually TRIED something different they would figure out how games work. It's sad when you can't just spray-n-play isn't COD kiddies :(
yep the casual generation are ruining games
It's the casual gamers that dominate console gaming. So you could say. Console gamers are ruining gaming.
yeah eventually everything is going to merge into an fps with lite rpg elements, till the next generation gets even more dumb, then video games will all be controlled with one button and 90% cutscenes.
Just more nails in the coffin, shittier dialogue system, one race, visuals are the same boring mess, less content and completion time, day one dlc everywhere, and the games easier to boot Well theres always The Witcher 2
lol true Witcher 2 will be better.
why dragon age 2 is easier than origins? So casual players will buy it and it will sell more, doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
How exactly was Origins "difficult"? If somebody thinks Origins was complicated, then clearly they should stay away from any type of RPGs. Stop "mainstreaming" good franchises, dammit.
Wow, if they thought Origins was hard, they should steer a million miles away from any RPG that came out from 1986-2006. What a bunch of crap.
In other words, they are going in the opposite direction of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. It has become a game for noobs.
The game had several difficulty settings! Just switch it down if you didn't cope! Switching it up is never as good, though, since only differene is that you have less, or enemies have more lifes, so it's basically just dragging out.
"'Hard' is there. 'Nightmare' is there for absolute ass-handing." If you want a challenging game, bump the difficulty up. STOP COMPLAINING.
Enough of your logic. It gets in the way of my childish elitism tantrums!
what are they talking about. That demo was hard
anyone know when the reviews start coming out? i mean it comes out in only a few days and still no sign of a review
Tuesday at 5pm is what I read... dunno what time zone though... and there are a few reviews out already. It's a 9 game.
Ok cool. Thanks man
I thought that Origins was hard. I put it on easy so the pacing would be more my style. Does the sequel work like Mass Effect? Using game saves to continue the story?
