Talent, passion and teamwork made Epic's Gears Of War a modern day gaming classic - but, according to studio boss Mike Capps, the team structure during creation of the game was a recipe for disaster.
But thanks to a steady flow of idiot consumers it didn't. Now Epic has a sure fire win on their hands to milk for a good 10 years -- Much like they did with Unreal.
Actually I like GoW a lot. Its the only game I play on my Xbox and the reason I haven't sold the thing yet.
My god do you only play exclusives? i buy most of my multi games on the 360 as I like the feel of the pad better and live is a great network of gamers as well as the games dont review badly on the 360 usually except for a small few compared to how they play on the ps3. I know on a sony site like n4g i dont expect many to agree with me but I am just stating facts not my opinion.
EPIC must be reaaaaaaaal happy i mean lets face it this game is going to sell shit loads not only because its a good game and there is alot of hype behind it but its like the only exclusive game on xbox this year
Gears 3 is the only thing that made me feel like I shouldn't sell my 360, just incase it is good again. And Jazz, the price of live just ain't worth it. Specially since besides Gears, the gaming experiance is largely the same with multi's
@Jazz - What red basically said + I play all multiplats on my gaming PC.
Me too I played my cousins game for ten minutes then bought an xbox just for this game.
well hold just a second there Gears1 is one of the best games this Gen most of the games that use cover system mimic Gears, the gameplay is of the hook but then Gears2 when and shoved it down the drain with a "sensitive story" that i didint give a crap about @[email protected] you spend all gears2 trying to save dom's wife and he ends up killing her,i was like we blasted through a whole locust base just to kill that bitch? WTF seriously you PS3 fanboys can keep Gears im pretty sure gears 3 is going to suck since you are going to be friends with the locust killing Super glowing locust
"seriously you PS3 fanboys can keep Gears" LOL
fanboy to the core.
I want some of that weed your on.
I am sure you have never played gears of war 1/2 or you wouldn't have made such a stupid comment, It might not appeal to you personally but you can't deny it's a great franchise. Consumers can spend their money on whatever they want, it's not like they are spending your money so I don't see why you are bothered about what other people buy.
Finally someone understands.
I hope you don't mean unreal tournament. Because that is such a good series.
@Balt Oh please did you even play unreal the only crap one was 3 i still play 2004. If you are talking about the console ports yeah those were crap but the pc ones were awesome.
I really enjoyed Gears of War and plan to get a Gears of War 3 day-one. It has one of the best if not the best cover mechanic of any game I played.
nice to see confidence in their games /s
What a load of bs.
Gladly, it didn't :)
Lol, every GDC based article about Epic just raises their "Complete Company of Self Absorbed Douche Bags" status.
The article makes sense though..........all the pieces for a bad game were there. But they still made it good.
Yeah, it could have been that Quantum Theory! Thank God it wasn't and turned out fantastic.
And Epic saved MS by convincing them to put 512 mb of ram in 360 instead of 256, every PS3 multiplat would look significantly better than 360s if that were the case.
Instead the split memory sony went with made the 360 multiplats look better. Pretty ironic I think.
Since the difference between the two games is so minor that in most cases it is not worth mentioning but fanboys like to rock the boat.
I think Sony was under the impression that 360 would only have 256 so they designed PS3 around the 2 256 RAM thinking it would easily outclass the 360.
What nonesense, Gears was never going to fail. it has so much wow factor from the moment it was announced. This article is an attempt at trolling.
