Dragon Age 2 For Xbox 360 Leaks. How Will This Be Blamed On PC Gamers?

"Dragon Age 2's 360 version has been leaked on the internet, throughout torrents.

When that dev build of Crysis 2 leaked a few weeks ago, EA was quick to condemn the PC gaming community, saying that piracy “continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.” I do wonder whether EA will be as quick to condemn console piracy now that Dragon Age 2, to be released next week, has also leaked. That’s right: the Xbox 360 version is now floating around out there, so it’s clear to me that console owners should now be subjected to the same kind of silly DRM that PC owners have had to put up with for years now.

The game can now be found wherever you find such things, and any 16-year-old with a free afternoon can figure out how to rig his Xbox 360 to run it flawlessly.

But no, PC gamers are the ones responsible for the collapse of the industry, right?"

This seems to happen a lot with EA.

Is there somebody in EA leaking all this or something?

Neckbear2842d ago

Either they shipped out copies already, or yes, there's someone in EA leakin' them games.

Well its much easier to pirate stuff on console then it is on PC. Even when a PC game does get leaked people are mostly waiting for a crack for it to actually work. With console its just download burn and play.

Yes their is the initial hurdle of getting the console moddded, this can easily be avoided by buying a modded console to begin with.

The reason why EA will not say a word again the 360 is because of Microsofts influence. EA dare not say a word against their console, the situation would be the same if the game was leaked on the PS3. The only reason PC gets flamed is because its a open platform and there is no one there to defend it.

If you define a pc gamer as a gamer with a pc... Than yes, this is still the fault of pc gamers. ;-)

The gaming world is no longer black or white. Just about everyone has a pc in the home, and 1+ console.

Blame pirates... Most of which own a pc.

NYC_Gamer2842d ago

people will spin this around and blame PC gamers like always

Kran2842d ago (Edited 2842d ago )

Always does. ¬¬

But it is proven. Leaks dont JUST occur on the PC. Yes, they dont occur as often as PC leaks, but they still happen.

Lets just face it. All leaks are just stupid. Why cant people just buy the game, for god sake!

I've seen two articles where the Killzone 3 leak was blamed on PC gamers. There seems to be a need for defensiveness.

thebudgetgamer2842d ago

fair enough, but no one can upload games from a console.

radphil2842d ago

Yea, but how are you going to blame the GAMERS on that platform for someone else using it to transport the data?

koehler832842d ago

Well it wasn't uploaded to torrent sites on Xbox.

Zinc2842d ago (Edited 2842d ago )

It could have been. The Xbox made a handy computer setup back in the day.

How sad, same day final *retail* review copies are delivered to journalists in the UK.
