Dead Island Won't Let You Kill Zombie Kids...but Why Would You Want To?

Rely on Horror: The Dead Island trailer that we probably have all seen by now has no doubt evoked some powerful feelings. The sombre music, the chilling visuals, and the way the grisly demise of one little girl is played out backwards. Who wouldn't feel a little jolted by that? In fact, it was the entire purpose of the trailer. Gamers went forth believing that Dead Island would be a much deeper, darker experience. With the announcement that there will be no Zombie-Kid-Killing in the game, we have to ask...why would we want to? (Dead Island, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

To get the sensation that anything is possible -- Sometimes people need to know that the improbable is possible. It gives more weight to your actions and adds believability into a clearly made up world. If people didn't break down barriers we'd still be sitting at square one too afraid to go to square two for nothing more than the fear it'd be too radically different for our brains to handle.

It's not that I actually want to but if a zombie apocalypse were to occur I'm pretty sure there would be zombie kids. And what's so wrong about killing zombie kids? It's only a video game.

Mow down a bunch of terrorists in a FPS in a gruesome fashion = Whoa this game rocks!!!

Kill a zombie child = OMG that's so immoral and wrong!!!

So, if a real apocalypse occured, we should just let the zombie kids eat us?

Im sorry, but I dont want to end up like that camera woman in Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

CMON! It's a freaking game. If we can kill animals in games, which most people hate doing, why cant we kill kids? They're just made up of freaking pixels and dont really exist!

Because zombie kids are the worse kind of zombies.

I don't think it's that gamers WANT to kill zombie children. It's just that the game seems a lot less realistic when there are no zombified children around right in the middle of a freaking zombie apocalypse.

Because I'm tired of constantly killing germans, russians, and people from the middle east. Some diversity would be nice.

Women, children and americans are a no go, eh?

If I'm going to play a game where I will be pretending to kill something, I might as well kill zombie kids as much as zombie adults... I mean, is the next outrage going to be about killing zombie little people (midgets, for the non pc crowd)?

It's a game. Game players end up killing fake people and other fake entities, including fake animals. That's what a lot of games involve.

I don't know that there is anything more to say, other than bring on the zombie kids.
