IGN: GDC: Thoughts on Infamous 2's Mission Creation

Hilary and Colin saw Infamous 2's mission creator, and they have some thoughts on how it will fit into the overall experience.

I have to admit, this really is a cool feature in my opinion. I'm sure people will have fun with it. Also, it's nice to hear people say multi-player doesn't belong in Infamous. I think that's the right choice.

I agree. MP doesn’t belong everywhere.
What’s funny is that I'm sure I would have shed a small tear if MP appeared in SKYRIM (Or any other Elder Scrolls base game)..But will laugh with glee if it showed up in Fallout...(something about the wide open wasteland and other folks running around gets a little hyped).

Its the smart thing to do.

Instead of just tacking on MP they create something that the community can participate in which increases the replayability of the game ten time over.

The main argument for MP in SP centric games this gen is to prolong the life of games. This not only

1. Increases the replayability of Infameous as i mentioned.

2. Totally innovative and not tacky like having MP.

3. This feature is best suited for a sandbox superhero game that infmoaus 2 is.

This move by SP is brilliant. If they do this well the critics and gamers are going to lap it up and will ensure I2 will have a decent shot at GOTY 2011.

Great way to extend the life of the game is by allowing users to create content for it. The editor seems quite complex i am going to have a lot of fun messing around with it.
