Killzone 3: to Helghan and back | TechCentral Review

Killzone 3 is a stunning advertisement for the PlayStation 3’s capabilities. Despite flawed storytelling and pacing in the single player campaign, it comes highly recommended to FPS fans looking for a technically impressive shooter.

No legacy controls means no purchase. Shame

Alternative, sensitivity down to 0.

I just beat the game and I don't see wats so bad or awful bout the story seriously. I enjoyed the single player very much so I'm puzzled by "it's flawed story" anyway all in all the game is very good.

kneon2457d ago (Edited 2457d ago )

KZ3's story gets criticism for being flawed, whereas every other FPS can get 9's and 10's with no story to speak of, or even worse the complete mess of crap that is the "story" of MW2.

KZ3 has among the best stories of any recent FPS games, not that there is much competition given how bad the stories are in almost every other FPS.

I actually agree with your comment kneon. I don't see what's so flawed about KZ3. It may not have the great storytelling as Uncharted 2 but what game does? Kz3's story might be average, but everyone is making it out to be worse than a bad Uwe Boll film.

I also don't get why the media loves COD's single player campaigns. While the multiplayer can be addicting and fun if you're into the twitchy shooter, the campaigns have always been scattered and sporadic. The stories are never chronological and worse yet you're jumping from character to character without any depth.

Also I don't get IGN's critism of something to do with fading to black cutscenes, I barely even noticed it and when I tried looking for it I still found it hard to see what they were complaining about.

I found it to be one of the better campaigns this gen with all the awesome set pieces.

yea i feel same way, just finished it tonight and really liked what was going on between the helghast and the hesistant commander that the isa forces had (all with awesome voice actors...clockwork orange dude, beowulf, and ajax from warriors).

not saying its shakespeare but for a videogame its was on par with all the other shooters out there

Malcom McDowell is always up for viddying a bit of the old ultraviolence, including in Killzone 3.

beavis4play2457d ago

As most of you guys above have said, I can't find anything wrong with the story and neither would I criticise GG for the cutscenes.
Somebody please point me to a fps that has a compelling storyline as a major component of the game? I thoroughly enjoyed the ride - which is why I bought the game.
OT Im pretty sure Ive worked out the question posed in the final scene - from a clue in the opening scene. Wont post my theory as it would be a massive spoiler!
