Bitmob Community Writer Rick Knight: It's heartbreaking to reach an age where you have a decent income and can finally afford that tricked-out PC you've always wanted, only to find that developers have given you the cold shoulder. Let's hear it for shoddy support and ridiculous workarounds!

Here are 10 reasons why PC gaming is an ongoing source of depression and frustration.

More reasons:

No -
Can't trade-in games
Doesn't always have a harmonized achievement system across *all* games
Computers are for porn anyway

solar2734d ago

Uncharted series = great.
KZ series = overhyped piece of crap
Halo series = never played
PC gamers are thrifty by nature, we dont need that
achievements??!! LMAO!!!
the internet was invented for porn. we all know that

iNMyFiN4LH0uR2734d ago

Uncharted=Great=anyone calling uncharted simply great has no credibility, no matter how much of a fanboy you are.
KZ series=overhyped piece of crap=the world, critics, sales speak otherwise
Halo=never played it=no one cares if you haven't, its a premium fps experience not to mention one of the the biggest competitive community

Point is PC gaming is past its golden age, its a fact, take a look at console exclusives and you will see the best games in the past decade have been console ones. This reality alone leaves the PC in the gutter.

All you need is 3 reasons... Consoles, Piracy and trade value!

The games on PC look better and have their advantages, but the main people who take advantage of those features are pirates/hackers!

ReservoirDog3162734d ago (Edited 2734d ago )

He did say it was great. Not good, not decent, not pretty good. Great.

And trade value is hardly relevant. They get things so cheap sometimes on steam that there's no reason to trade games.

Don't have a gaming pc but come on. They wanna play on a pc then let them play on the pc. You wanna play on a console, play on a console. Both have their pluses and minuses.

iNcRiMiNaTi2734d ago

Achievements were put in console games to try and increase replayability. PC games get free mods for infinite replayability.

Kon2734d ago

Pretty much what you said.

evrfighter2734d ago (Edited 2734d ago )

Ya that's pretty spot on.

BTW the only halo I ever played was reach. Is it bad that I don't remember the races but refer to em as terrans and protoss? BTW reach got cheesed with the 4 gate rush. Terrans were too busy teching and got destroyed.

I own Kz2. I played it for less than a week. I believe I only played about 3 times online before it got boring.

I own uncharted1 bought it used at Gamestop...speaking of which I wonder what happened to it I don't think its in my dust layered pile of console games.=\

If you can past the jaggy mess and low res textures its a decent game.

ChickeyCantor2734d ago

But for every game that is on the PC
1080p and beyond.

Thats usually the stuff you people brag about right?

Jezuz2734d ago

just play what you like

Has a few good points in the article, but most were weak.

For BakedGoods, the console lovers pretty well have the best they are going to see in KillZone 3, and that's it (Graphics Wise, as gameplay was very good, but not great).

And from seeing High Def of Crysis 2 and Battlefield 3 for the PC, and how soooo much better they look than the best console game, my PS3 and 360 now sit and collect dust, Steam has my biggest game collection right now.

itsralf2734d ago

Halo is on PC...

BakedGoods2734d ago

Oh I know, that's the first place I played it.

But hey, if you want to play REACH, ODST, WARS, or hell, even HALO 3 on the PC let me know how.

itsralf2734d ago (Edited 2734d ago )

I don't play games on my PC at all. I was just saying Halo was a bad choice.

Nolando2734d ago

... You didnt think about that comment did you?... BakedGoods... I agree...

itsralf2734d ago (Edited 2734d ago )

BakedGoods said PC gaming is in the gutter because of no Halo. There is Halo on PC. That's all I'm saying... I don't see what I'm missing here, or what clever twist you think you've found.
^^Am I wrong? Is that not Halo for the PC? /:

RadicalDreamer2731d ago

Not sure why anyone would want to play Halo Wars on any platform.

I thought this was going to be another article explaining why "PC gaming is dying" but thank God it's not. Sadly, yes. PC gaming, although not dying, is going into a shitty direction. This article pretty much hit the head on nail as to why.

Although, I personally do not agree with no.3 to some extend. It's true that PC gamers are pretty vocal and retaliate strong sometimes, their complains are valid most of the time.

illegalyouth2734d ago

Yeah, I agree about number 3. I've never had anyone "haunt my shit."

radphil2734d ago (Edited 2734d ago )

Yea the main one I didn't agree with is #3. All the other parts though they are true to an extent.

And yea I also agree that this article was more about the negativity happening TO PC gaming, but some go across on all methods when you think about it.

Nolando2734d ago

I think with crysis 2, BF3, shogun total war 2... Things are looking ok :P

General Shrooms2734d ago (Edited 2734d ago )

I'll choose PC over console any day.

hoops2734d ago

Exactly...also considering the same game on the PC costs $10+ less and looks and runs better

choadley2734d ago

So much red tape to go through before you can actually enjoy a game...

Pandamobile2734d ago

Buy game >> Download game >> play game.

It doesn't get much more simple than that.

ic4ruz2734d ago

FasterThanFTL: Thanks for DRM and shitty ports!

grow up and stop ruining PC gaming for us that actually support the developers.

Motorola2734d ago (Edited 2734d ago )

I just got a graphics card to play the superior multiplats. its not dying. Beat Mass Effect 2 today...only for 20 bucks on Steam. 1,2, and 9 are pretty legit reasons though
