Dead Space: Martyr – Revealing the Origins of Unitology

Electronic Arts’ Dead Space franchise was always intended to push the transmedia envelope. Despite reportedly poor sales of the first videogame, its release was still accompanied by an animated feature film and comic book series. I read Martyr a few weeks ago, good stuff if you're looking to dig into the Dead Space universe. Goes over the origins of The Marker, how they found the first one, and some pretty crazy reveals regarding Unitotology's "Founder". Hopefully they'll have more novels down the line.

Definitely one of the better novels based on a game I've ever read. The combat taking a backseat to story and character development was exactly what they needed to do.

No shit a true dead space fan read the book, goverment = unitology .

but I thought unitology was some sort of religion based on the marker.

In the games you find ALOT of dead bodies with bags over their heads. I assumed they had suffocated themselvs to preserve their bodies so they can be granted eternal life as a necromorph. Since bodies that are missing limbs cant be turned into a necromorph(smash bodies to stop the bat from making more necros).

kinda like a cult drinking the koolaid and waiting for the meteor.
