Killzone 3/Bulletstorm Midnight Launch Fail Footage

RespawnAction shows not the mass of people waiting for Killzone 3 and Bulletstorm, but the apparent lack of excitement in the East Coast's biggest city at a midnight release.

HAAHAHAHHA its going down over there. Jam packed with people.

M-Easy2827d ago

God, I'm getting cold just looking at that. No way i'd be out there either.

Biggest2827d ago

Did anyone else see zero people even in the store? If there was a midnight release happening I would expect at least an employee to look out the glass to see if anyone was walking up. It just looks like someone left the lights on and went home.

NukaCola2827d ago

I am standing in line, at the post get my Killzone 3 with all my bonuses.

Gamestop can eat one. They are never getting my money again. I buy everything through Amazon.

Fat Bastard2827d ago

If I hadn't traded in Cod black ops for $38, I would definitely take advantage of the amazon deal. This will be the first time I've bought from gamestop in a long time, and it's all black ops' fault dammit

Inside_out2826d ago (Edited 2826d ago )

Sony running the multi-player beta and then dropping the demo right before the launch of the game killed the hype. It doesn't matter, it should still sell really well and far better than KZ 2 did.

Sony should really man up and let EA and Crytek run the Crysis 2 multi-player beta now. People are either buying KZ3 or they are not buying KZ3 at this point. No reason to alienate one of your bigger supporters out there in EA IF EA isn't upset already...I here EA still hasn't signed up for the PsP2 yet...Hmmmmm

As for the's freezing and no one is in line because they are sitting in there cars. If you tell people that you can get a wireless headset and a KZ tee shirt for being one of the first 20 people, watch what happens.

kneon2826d ago

Does anyone go to these anymore? I just don't see the point. I pre-order online and I always get the games launch day. I can wait the few extra hours.

TheLastGuardian2826d ago (Edited 2826d ago )

Nobody is there because Gamestop sucks. Amazon gave $20 credit for KZ3 so they would be smart to buy it there.

gaffyh2826d ago

What is the point of going to midnight launches anyway? It's cold, and do you REALLY need to play the game the second it comes out?

On the other hand you can order the game online, and 9 times out of 10, it will get to you before the release date. Better than a midnight launch, and most of the time a lot cheaper.

No surprise since a shitload of people cancelled their Gamestop Preorder, and got the Amazon deal instead. That gives you $20 amazon cr, 3 unlock pts, bonus maps, and release date delivery for .99 cents.
Just look at the top charts for each site.

Dragun6192827d ago (Edited 2827d ago )

Maybe People went to Walmart instead.

Amazon also has $20 Credit for both games.
Why buy at Gamestop when there's much better deals elsewhere?

vickers5002827d ago

Because I only had to pay 15 bucks for KZ3 after trading in Black Ops and the crap that is MW2.

Rainstorm812827d ago (Edited 2827d ago )

I mean really its not like it was a Killzone 3/Bulletstorm Event going on its a MIDNIGHT launch at a random NY Gamestop.

Statix2827d ago (Edited 2827d ago )

I agree with those who say that getting $20 off from Amazon and Walmart is a much better deal than Rip-Off City (Gamestop), but still, I would expect a bigger presence at a midnight launch just based on dumb people who aren't deal-conscious like we are.

Doubtful that it's indicative of poor sales (at least for KZ3), but you never know.

Certain citys dont have enough people that game, my city you hardly see anyone anywhere for any game at midnight, even for COD.

DelbertGrady2827d ago (Edited 2827d ago )

It's freaking New York city.

@morganfell - You are right but I don't see Bulletstorm reaching those numbers.

morganfell2827d ago

The same thing happened with GT5...and look how that turned out after 6 weeks.

Mustang300C20122827d ago (Edited 2827d ago )

Funny thing is that Hiphopgamer posted the same thing in another location in New York for the Killzone 2 launch with the same results. Nobody was around

sashimi2826d ago (Edited 2826d ago )

I live in new york and i didn't bother with a midnight release. People have things to do in the morning >.> not that i buy anything from gamestop anyway since mostly only kids hang out there.
Amazon preorder ftw!

slinky1234562827d ago

whats this "big city" they say this video is from, if its big enough there probably will be a few gamestops and many other retailers people would rather go to.

CoffeewithChess2827d ago

He says it at the end of the video.

SmokeyMcBear2827d ago

"new york city" does not have little strip malls like that. Maybe someone in New york really outside of the 5 boroughs... but not any real "city"

BullCrap2827d ago

Why is this aproved? I can goto a closed gamestop and take some footage. This vid is fail.

Wildarmsjecht2827d ago

I pre-ordered from Amazon for $58 total, release day delivery, free 3 skill points, free map packs, and $20 credit towards my next purchase. Yea. I dont need to do a midnight launch, unless im getting it signed like my MGS4 copy :D

*Strokes copy of MGS4*

--------2827d ago (Edited 2827d ago )

...You son of a bitch.

Aclay2827d ago

I pre-ordered from Amazon too...I purchase nearly all my games exclusively from Amazon now. The Pre-order Credits for lots of big games are just awesome and saves me a decent amount money throughout the year.

I don't see how anyone could pass up a $20 Pre-order Credit unless they simply don't buy games online.
