I think this seems due for an official price-drop. I bought one at the end of last week and the retailer I got it from had it reduced too as did some others (not as low as this, but still I was expecting to have to pay around €300).

Rynx2773d ago

Yeah it's a given. Same thing happened a few months before the Slim released almost every retailer started doing some kind of "deal" on the PS3.

When it gets more and more common to see deals like these then you know that SONY is ready to announce a price drop.

DualConsoleOwner2773d ago

Perhaps, Sony is ready to introduce revised, and remodeled version that cant be hacked.

hackers already discussed that Sony can stop hacking through revision.

so this is entirely possible and maybe they are having discounts to get rid of old models.

Yi-Long2773d ago

... getting released here in Europe. I sure as hell hope so.

Would be nice if the PS3 gets another price-drop or cool bundles, with a new color as well! That means I might upgrade my 80GB FAT to a 320GB slim.

Shang-Long2773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

if they release a white model. id bite.

Undeadwolfy2773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

Anyone want?

Denethor_II2772d ago

@DCOwner Very interesting theory, very plausible.

Istanbull2772d ago

Man I would do anything for a Blue Titanium color PS3 like Japans GT5 PS3 bundle!

tommy-cronin2773d ago

below 200 though, thats pretty good for a price drop

Sev2773d ago

I had no idea the PS3 was still so expensive in the UK. Equivalent to like $400 american. This price is more like $339 if I remember my currency conversions correctly.

Raf1k12773d ago

Pretty much everything costs more here. You'll be surprised at how much we pay for fuel.

militant072773d ago

they rised fuel prices here :(

super petrol became 0.27$/L

when it was 0.22$/L

sjaakiejj2773d ago

Lol, we pay about 1gbp / L

tom012782773d ago

about 1 gbp/l???
where are you buying your petrol!
It's a touch under £1.30 here D:

Damn you America with your cheap everything :P

GamingManiac2773d ago

1.62euro here in germany...

starcb262773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

We pay $2.95 in Houston.

dragon822773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

It was $3.22 the other day here in Michigan.

The N4G Article Comments

Come for the intelligent and respectful discussion... stay for the regional gas price updates.

RBdrift2772d ago

$3.71 for 91 octane here in Los Angeles. California has it worse then any other mainland state.

Apone2772d ago

Thank god my FTL drive doesn't run on petrol... ;)

The Meerkat2772d ago

RBdrift

91 Octane?

Are your octane ratings different from the UK?

We can't even buy anything as low as 91 in the UK.

BattleAxe2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

@ RBdrift

LOL $3.71 per U.S. Gallon is cheap compared to what people in Canada and Europe pay.

There are 4 Liters in 1 U.S. Gallon, and here in Vancouver 87 Octane gas is around $1.22 CDN per Liter. Right now the Canadian Dollar is about 95 cents U.S.

If I was paying the prices you pay for gas, it would cost about 93 cents per Liter. Once you guys get up to $5 per U.S. Gallon, then you should be paying the prices that the rest of the western world pays.

@The Meerkat

87 Octane is the lowest in North America. Something you will also find over here is that Diesel is not very big over here as compared to Europe.

srmiller2772d ago

UK petrol starts at 95 Octane and 97-99 for 'Super'. BP also do a 102 Octane but last I saw that was £2.50 per ltr!

zaz122772d ago

we pay less than 5.00$ for 15L in KSA

DaTruth2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

Recently I've watched the oil price drop while our currency rises and gas prices stay the same! They don't even care anymore; people in Canada can't go to the corner store without their car!

I take transit 3 months a year to work and walk many kilometers every day! I would drive less, but insurance costs are just stupid and I don't want to pay lots of money to "not drive"!

Caleb_1412772d ago

If you guys are interested in lower fuel prices, look up LPG (Liquid Petroleum Gas). Once you convert your car, its on average about 70p a litre and you can run it alongside your ordinary fuel ;)

Why we call it rip off Britain, you wanna see our petrol prices...

fossilfern2773d ago

I wouldn't say we're ripped off, just look at the prices of games in Australia and New Zeland

JoshuaN4G2773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

I think it's more around £196 = $320.

360FTW22773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

That's true

BiggCMan2773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

$960 for iPhone 4 WTF...

--------2773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

The iPhone 4 is £612 in the UK. Convert £612 = $994 as of today.

LeonVesper2772d ago

Is that with out without the subsidized phone plan? I am thinking you are basically getting the unlocked phone. But then again, I could be wrong about that.

@on topic
I am surprised Sony is becoming aggressive with their business strategy with the PS3. All it means, more people can enjoy the games the company has to offer throughout the rest of the year.

--------2772d ago (Edited 2772d ago )

-
That's Pay As You Go. You're not on a plan, but you're still locked to one carrier until you pay to have your phone unlocked.

And the only decent plans (in regards to how many minutes and texts you get per month) are £40/$65 per month, and you have to pay £45/$60 for the iPhone itself before the plan even starts...

...and that's a 2 year long plan. Coming to a total of $1680 in total. That's for the iPhone 4 and the 24 month long plan. I don't think Apple really cares about the UK to be honest.

NBT912773d ago

Seems very likely. I got the same from Tesco for £189 yesterday actually. BTW guys 20% off ALL Gaming items there until end of the month!

ian722773d ago (Edited 2773d ago )

I go to Tesco for my games. They are normally a lot cheaper than GAME or Gamestation, especially on release day.
Tesco did COD:BO for £25 if you got a £20 PSN top-up and MoH for £28, with the same £20 PSN offer(release day).
Asda are also quite good with prices on games that have been out a month or two. I have seen games for £25 only a few weeks after release, I got Blur and Split/Second for £25 each only two weeks after release.

NBT912773d ago

ASDA are good sometimes, but shocking at ohers.
I got Dead Rising 2 and did not like it, traded it at ASDA and got Fifa 11 on release night for less then the price of a cheeseburger lol

iistuii2773d ago

Is my bag, I got Black ops and FIFA on day of release for £26 each and didn't have to buy PSN or xbox live points, you just have to buy your shopping there and spend £30 on it, which we obviously do for a weeks shop, great deals.

plb2773d ago

I recently picked another one up for $299 with $50 best buy gift card
