'Halo 3' Breaks Sales Records Before Hitting Shelves

"Halo 3" video game for the Xbox 360 console will blast its way into the world Monday at midnight when it goes on sale for the first time. The first two games in the "Halo" trilogy, a series of first-person shooter games that lets friends cooperate as well as play against one another online, were wildly successful. All indications suggest that "Halo 3" will meet with a similar destiny.

What a moron. Halo 2 multiplayer is still racking up an average of 250,000 matches each day. Halo 2 is a huge success and a fantastic game.

Halo 3 will be played for years, long after RFOM, HS and Lair are forgotten.

Halo: Combat Evolved was a truly innovative FPS for a console in dire need of a decent game. Halo 2 brought Halo's awesome multiplayer into Xbox Live and that made it a refreshing change from Halo. I'll admit it and many others will admit it too that the primary reason for being hyped over Halo 2 was its online features.
Now here we are with Halo 3, but can anybody tell me what is so innovating and/or refreshing about it that would match its predecessors? I'm sorry, but new weapons, maps, and vehicles sounds more like a download then a final episode to a kick*** series. If you disagree with me, then please...PLEASE...speak up and let me know why you think this game will be remotely as good as Halo 1 or 2.

The majority of the reviews tend to be either 95% or above. That speaks volumes about this game, and it shows it lives up to its hype. One or two 90%s or so won take that away from it.

By the way, you have spent the whole day trying to bring the overwhelming positive Halo 3 news down. I think you need a break... maybe take a shower and go get some fresh outside air... you need it.

You don't have to play a game for 24hrs a day non-stop in order to prove that it's good.

MS has went overboard on advertising on this type of game that has been done on a PC a long time ago. It's just another FPS that MS been doing ever since PC game was develope. I really dont know what all the excitement about. There's really nothing new or unique about the game.... anyhow have fun while you can. Cause once the Halo 3 thing dies down... that's it till 2 years from now for the 360, in hoping the GOW2 will comes out. Again another shooter and with the same concept.

I will have to say that NG2 looks awsome, but everyone knows that it will appear on PS3 sooner or later. Im not a fanboy or anything. Just Halo never got my attention, maybe I dont like FPS. i almost got a ps3 this year because of HS, Lair, and blu-ray. But HS and Lair did not live up to the hype, so the only thing really pushing the hype train on ps3 was blu-ray, but even that is questionable because of hd-dvd now.

guess i'll wait till next year and see reviews for MGS4 and KZ2 and how blu-ray is doing, but until then....HALO, HALO, HALO....until Mass Effect.
