LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game Preview - CheatCC

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

That may be a cliché, but it also seems to be the official motto for the LEGO videogame series. In the six years since the smash hit LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game, developer Traveller's Tales has spent most of its energy repeating the formula with one movie after another. In the typical LEGO game, you play as LEGO versions of the main characters, exploring 3D LEGO environments based on scenes from the film. To break up the easy action/platformer gameplay, you watch cutscenes in which LEGO figurines act out events from the movie, usually with a whimsical twist. In addition to Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Batman, and Harry Potter have gotten the LEGO treatment."

The story is too old to be commented.

I wouldn't call what they do, a repeating formula. The Lego games get better and better. The original Star Wars game was a simple force push,a lightsaber swipe, blaster, and a few flight sequences. It was a pretty simple game, but with each series it get better and more advanced. I enjoyed all of them. I would call them simple hardcore games. They are the best games to interpret movies as well. Harry Potter was flipping outstanding. And the New Srar Wars game, though based on a story I don't care for, looks to be one of the best family games this year. I am looking forward to Pirates as well. Pirates can be hardcore in LBP, it can be hardcore in Lego.

I am still holding out for Lego Back to the Future..
