Blizzard: StarCraft: Ghost Abandoned In Favor Of StarCraft 2, World Of Warcraft.

"Blizzard fans are keenly aware that Swingin’ Ape Studios’ highly anticipated third-person action title StarCraft: Ghost was abandoned back in 2005, but, as Blizzard cofounder Mark Morhaime revealed during DICE 2011 yesterday, there were two very big reasons why."

The story is too old to be commented.

Well Blizzard, now that those are out and making you multiple truckloads of money, how about investing one of them into Ghost.

Honestly, considering the popularity of a canceled IP in the wake of two successes, how do you not go back to it? Make something from the idea even if its not the original concept.

Most of their energy is going to into making those 2 expansions to Starcraft 2 Zerg "Heart of the Swarm”, and the Protoss campaign “Legacy of the Void".
I reckon they will make it but it will be a long time from now

I don't know... the way they're talking, they won't be going back to Ghost at all, as unfortunate as that is.

Even when they complete those two expansions, they'll probably have another excuse to not make Ghost. Like Universe of Warcrack, or something.

I literally cried when it was cancelled. On top of it i had to want an extra 5 years for SC2.

You cried? You were in love with that ass am I right?

LMS2497d ago

thank god they did, the early build i saw looked atrocious, that said, if they actually devoted some time to it we could see a sweet game by 2015

Ravenor2497d ago

Agreed what was shown did look awful, even for 2005 the quality of some of the enemy zerg and marine models was awful.

I also wouldn't mind for the project to be revisited but I would really prefer if Blizzard was running the whole show.

Well it was a good decision. SC2 is awesome, ghost, who knows what it would have been.

That blows. I really wanted this game. I don't play WOW and I can't run shit on my crappy computer so Starcraft 2 is just a dream to me.

Build a new PC? Starcraft 2 really isn't that demanding.

Persistantthug2497d ago

Maybe he can't afford to build a new PC atm.

Indeed. Money is tight. It's really just my video card. I can't run Jade Empire at full setting with that thing...

I actually want to upgrading to a much better card when I find steady work, but a lot of other things need to happen before that; my car needs work, I owe some friends money for smoking me out all the time, I need a new amp, a new receiver for my sound system, the list goes on.
