Mhh.
I don't know Mass Effect OST was so great, it reminds me Krautrock debut or 80's synth with this amBient flavor that could match Sci fi ambience.

Hope Mansell will do something great, but for the moment i'm sceptical

Really liked this ending track from ME1: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

...and the launch trailer song from ME2: http://www.youtube.com/watc...

...along with Jack's theme (especially around 2:10): http://www.youtube.com/watc...

That song from ME2 is from a group called Two Steps from Hell, they have other really great song as well.

I re read my first post

And it makes the impression i m saying that i dont understand what people found to ME OST.

In fact i'm saying the total opposite just forgot one thing :

"I dont know; Mass effect OST was so great..."

Yes i Love ME OST, i was just sceptical Mansell (even good as he is) can make a better one.

I think it's clearer now ;)

Mansell's scores for Requiem, Moon & Black Swan are amazing.

This news has just reignited my interest in ME3!

The original theme will still be used but I'm glad they're getting in a film composer for the last game to give it some fresh direction.

Personally I wanted Daft Punk after their work with Tron: Legacy.

This is a bittersweet feeling for me. On one hand, Jack Wall did an incredible job with ME 1 and 2. They're two of my favourite soundtracks from this gen, so it kind of sucks that he won't be completing the trilogy.

On the other hand, Mansell has done amazingly brilliant works in the past (Moon, The Fountain, Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, etc), and his powerful talent will definitely work well with ME 3's themes.

And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for you meddling kids!

Great news, The Fountain soundtrack is one of the most favorite albums i've got, i listen to it all the time (the whole album)

Have a listen http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Big fan of (MOST) of his work (Black Swan sucked)

Yeah, it's kinda hard to really improve upon genius, especially Tchaikovsky's. But I think Mansell did a decent job, and the music helped the story along well enough.

TheDopeFiend2446d ago (Edited 2446d ago )

That was the problem, i wasn't feeling the film (meaning i was enjoying it when i went to see it) so i wasn't feeling the music either, it's a shame because i wanted to like Black Swan, just wasn't for me, Machine Man sounds more up my street http://www.imdb.com/title/t... same writter, same director and same composer

Infernostew2446d ago

Awesome! His composition for the film Moon was incredible. He has a wide variety of musical talents and styles so I'm excited to see what he'll offer ME3.

Well that should be good. So did anyone else think how ridiculous it was that they advertised Mass Effect 2 as having all kinds of imports from Mass Effect 1? Really it had just a few things here and there and didn't do much to alter the gameplay... unless I missed something that I am not aware of.

poplin2446d ago

dude there were a whole ton. Few of them were MASSIVE but there were enough little details throughout the entire game for me to feel like it wouldnt have been nearly as special without the imported shepard.
