Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford has confirmed that a sequel to Borderlands is in the works.
Yes, Borderlands 2! The first one was great and really fun to play with friends.
GREAT! I loved Borderlands! It was refreshing and different than all those other games coming out in the holiday season. It had this amazing atmosphere, great characters and guns. After Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Batman: AA, Street Fighter 4, this was one of the best games of 2009. The only thing they need to fix is the story and using all of the game's locations equally. Borderlands 1 had 50% of the game setting in the first few regions while it had 10 times more.
I agree with you mostly, Borderlands was fun but it quickly became reptitive. I also hope they focus more on a story in the sequel, the first game doesn't really make an effort to keep your interest in who your enemy is or even what's in the vault. I just couldn't care, I was having more fun playing the side missions with some friends.
I hope that ALIEN Colonial marines comes out before Borderlands 2 and that its good
The one thing that pissed me off about Borderlands is that there was NOTHING in the vault. I was hoping to see like miles of weapons!
i invested allot of time in to borderlands, i think i had the most powerful gun in the game seriously it would kill EVERYTHING in one shot including the final boss, but there was something about it, it just lacked an overall personality.
@nickjcal i wish i didnt read that, i got boarderlands for xmas and haven't got all that far yet, not that the story is of any interest but now i know not to get my hopes up about the vault contents. ...thanks
@ New Zealander. My bad. Don't worry there's enough weapons in the game to find that you'll never get bored of it. And you'll have fun getting to the vault too...or maybe you'll get pissed off. One of the two lol. That last level is a bitch.
@New actually, its not that theres nothing in the Vault, you dont even make there in time to open it because it only opens every 200 years. So there may still be a surprise in the second game for you. I just ruined the plot more but honestly it will not detract from your experience at all due to its insignificance. Fact.
I love loot. I love Borderlands. Enough said.
automatic PC game right here. had Borderlands on PS3 and they were never able to fix voice chat. was so disappointed in that
Really? I never had a problem with it.
I played borderlands tonnes with my friends and never once had an issue with voice chat...
It came and went sometimes but I to had the voice chat issue. Still managed to Platinum the game though loved it. I also have a PC though and I wish borderlands loaded like it does on my PC on my PS3. Though I still loved playing it on both.
I have it on PS3, and I really enjoyed it and definitely can't wait to see the sequel. However while it's a lot of fun, I have had a lot of mic issues as well with my friends. Unless someone with a really solid connection is the host, it seems to give really choppy voice connections. This was still happening for me up through the last time I played, which was only about two weeks ago. In addition to that, my old mic (Plantronics Explorer 320) only seemed to work half the time, and would tend to have many issues only with this game. The other downside for me, was the long load times I was experiencing, which have been slightly remedied since I installed a new HDD (WD Caviar Black, 7200rpm, 16MB cache). The increased speed on the drive, as well as the larger cache seems to benefit the load times and texture pop-ins by a significant amount, making gameplay smoother even. I can't be certain, but it may have even helped stabilize some of the dropped frames and issues like that I was having. I would imagine that most of these issues will be taken care of and many other features will be added with the next game.
I know i am in the minority here, but i just cannot stand cell shading. It was a fun game and a hoot to play but man, that cartoony look just really drags the visuals down imo.
I agree, this is great news. Personally, Borderlands was one of my favorite games this entire generation.
LOVED Borderlands. Ending was crap though lol
just like Batman AA. the fight in the sewer and the last fight was a HUGE disappointment!
This will most definitely be a pre-order for me. I absolutely loved the first one and I still play it. The only thinks I would like to see in the second one would be better character and weapon customization and a more focused story.
I guess I'll have to play the first one, I bought it when it came out and never felt like start playing it always seemed like a second rate Fallout with no VATS
Never got round to playing the first maybe because none of my mates bought it and didn't want to play it on my own.... might pick this one up when it's out
i bought the game on the first day and just bought the GotY edition a few days. so that i can play on both of my PS3s one in the living room and one in my room. my cousins love this game. and the DLC is the perfect (no horse armor/ over priced maps).
Great news, but please, finish Aliens: Colonial Marines first. I want to play that game before 2020...
More Borderlands! I loved the first one. It kept me, and my friends, playing for a long time.
Yes! I was hoping for this. The first was awesome and unique, something most first-person games aren't
Great 1st game. Actually worth the $60. Def getting BL2.
Yes! I absolutely loved the first, me and my mates played it like 10 hours a day every day for the entire christmas holiday (except a bit of partying ;) ) Was so fun!
Would love more MP options this time round, and of course MORE GUNS! :D
Shweet. Borderlands was quite a bit more fun than most of the big name FPSs of this generation. More more more!
im still playing the first one lol bring on the second :)
Where do I send the money? How much do they need? Do the developers need anything at all? Catering, laundry, daycare for the kids? Whatever it takes to give them the time and attention they need to get it done and get it done right.
I knew it was in development (cause many did I think) and I CANNOT WAIT ;D
hmmm interesting... I had the first borderlands before all the DLC came out... I enjoyed the always random loot, it reminded me of Diablo II... but not many of my friends had it... so I usually ended up always playing solo... and that got old real quick.. I liked the game.. but it's definitely not meant to play alone.
I played alone the first playthrough and had a blast. I stopped playing the game for awhile (stopped at like lvl 33-37 I think) until my friend finally got the game and started playing it with him, and spent a lot more time playing co-op than SP. But I still had a lot of fun playing by myself. You don't have to have somebody to play with to have fun with the game, but it does increase the replayability and fun you get out of it.
look at all the disagree's... I didn't say anything about not liking the game and neither did vickers500.... in fact we both said we purchased and played it.... so much hate for no reason... and what I mean't by getting old quick is this... when you're playing a gaming where the drops/monster difficulty/exp is measured by how many people are in the game than yeah playing by yourself will eventually get old... I didn't mean to rile up the Borderlands Elite... I just didn't invest as much time as all of you.. and for that I apologize. I'll stay away from Borderlands topics.
Everyone knew it was coming, but the real question was when. Excellent news though. Really really loved the first game.
I liked the first one, but there are many things they can do in the sequel.
About time! Hope we see it @ E3.
Really was surprised how much I liked the first one. Was funny, exciting and fun to play. Exactly what a GAME is supposed to be!!
Exactly the best part was that it was a shooter first and an RPG second which made it incredibly easy to pick up and play. Plus i loved craptrap he was so darn funny
Ill go ahead and give you a AGREE as it seems that someone disagrees with our opinions lol!! I was just telling a friend (who didnt play) how I liked the variations of the weapons. I liked how when you got a weapon you liked. You just kept it. You would find different weapons that may seem the same but something would be different and not enough to make you dump one for the other. Like say you have a awesome SMG and find one similar ... but realize it has a MUCH lower Fire rate...or a small ass CLIP! lol I wish more games did that...instead of just making the guns inflict mre damage as you progress. This game took into account...clip size, fire rate, what type of rounds (fire, explosive, 2 others I cant remember lol) and you had sniper, assault handguns and shotguns. Ohh and scopes. So with all those combos you had SOOO many different types of weapons to choose from. And it was random so what weapons I would find you will find totally different ones at different times. And BOSS weapons werent automatically better. Alot of times I would sell the BOSS weapons cause I had better ones LOL!! Yes...I will be buying BL2!
the only guns i wished were better were the alien ones. In my opiñion they should have made them better. What a dissapointment i had when i picked up my first alien weapon.
i loved the first one, Cant wait to see the new trillion guns they will make for the 2nd one lol.
hmmmm looks like i should try and finish up the dlc in my goty edition for the ps3 i'll do that once i know of a release date for the game but yeah it was a pretty fun game to play, there will probably be dlc for this game so i may just rent the second one and buy thier goty edition when it comes out either way they will get my money regardless
I played Borderlands alone for about 10 hours or so then got YLOD. I enjoyed it, even playing by myself. I will have to start the game again, but don't mind as I loved it. I don't know when I'll get round to playing though as I have many games to finish that I'm half way through. Another Borderlands is good news for those who liked the first, I know one day I'll get it.
One of my friends just posted the link to this story on my facebook wall, this is what I commented on it: :-OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O OOOOOOOOOOOOO F*CK YEH!!!!
Hey I got an idea forget borderlands and lets talk Aliens Colonial Marines
Awesome, Definitely getting it. Loved first one. Always play in splitscreen with my brother. He is crazy about that game.
Nice, hopefully we get some footage or something come E3 this year. Only games left I wanna see a sequel to is Mirror's Edge and Resonance of Fate now.
boringlands for me.
Not to say the graphics were bad at all, but I wish they had kept the graphics they were showcasing in the GameInformer issue when they first revealed it. The weapons looked a lot cooler imo.
Just let me know we I can pre-order and I will be there with bells on 8)
Finally! yes What a great game Borderlands is, truely addicting, the 'Diablo' of this generation
Automatic Pre-Order! Cant Wait!
I'm afraid that this will be a day one purchase for me.
