CVG Preview: True Crime: Hong Kong - 2011's most polished open-world?

CVG: "Barring a surprise from Rockstar this summer, True Crime: Hong Kong is undoubtedly the biggest and most polished open-world action game on the horizon - and we know, we've seen it.

Sit down with developer United Front Games and the team is keen to stress it's providing a lot of things above and beyond what the competition has to offer." (PC, PS3, True Crime: Hong Kong, Xbox 360)

L.A Noire isn't open world.

I hope they really turn the series around. I don't really remember anything special about the games. They were fun, but it was always a second class GTA. The different setting might give it some diversity.

For some reason this game just makes me think of Stranglehold meets Yakuza meets GTA. To be honest that sounds like an epic game.

yes it is. It's not SandBox, but it is open world

I have pretty little faith in this...
... I've been to Hong Kong many times, I LOVE the city, been all over the place, love HK cinema, and I love sandbox-games...

... but the pictures and videos don't look or feel like Hong Kong at all. Just take for example that picture of that road. It looks NOTHING like a Hong Kong road.

I hope I'm wrong about this game and it will be a great tribute to the city, but so far, there's been nothing that implies that they took HK serious.

I guess throwing some neon-boards and chinese looking peds around a made-up 'asian' map, constitutes for building a realistic version of Hong Kong.

CVG Reviewer, 6/10.... polished game graphics not as good as LA Noire but good, only 5 mission types, weak story

THIS IS HOW IT STARTS

when is anything Acti has their hands on the most polished? Maybe it is just me but Acti & quality DON'T go hand in hand.
