The release of the Nintendo 3DS is just around the corner. This turn of events brings on exciting new hardware, new games, and the slow death of the Nintendo DS. Time to say farewell to this loved handheld.
This just reminds me about how excited I am for the 3DS
but the 3ds is a ds????....yeah????
True, but at the same time it is the first upgrade that legitimately feels like a new product. I do see your point though...
My daughter is 3 years old and she has been asking me for a DSI. I guess I'll be waiting for the price to drop once the 3DS launches. Not sure what games to buy her.
no it's another experience , not just an upgrade. it's exactly the next generation handled console - of course new features added . without telling all , only saying 3D tells it. Agree...
Whawt? samus... LOL. ok.
LOL you, the 5 people that agreed with you, bgrundman, and the 2 people that agreed with him are all stupid. THIS IS NOT A DS! IT CANT BE.. IT HAS DIFFERENT GRAPHICS AND NEW EXCLUSIVE GAMES..... ITS A NEW GODDAMN HANDHELD
so a ps3 is not a playstation
what about okamiden ??:P
I still have my "Fat" DS after all these years :) still remember the day i got it
core stuff is done huh? kirby 4, pokemon black, white, inazuma eleven 1, okamiden, dragon quest vi, radiant historia, isnt core? or what wil get announced later? There will still be tons of ds games being localized and made.
I think this article is more of a great reminder of the market and industry realities that were in effect when the original phat DS came out. I was one of the PSP first adopters, and it was more expensive, felt like a better piece of hardware, and there were games on it that more closely approximated the console stuff at the time. We know that the DS won that round, though. Bravo to Nintendo. I'm still on the fence about the 3DS. Is it enough of a step forward? In my mind, not if the games are still Zelda, Mario, Dragon Quest and (shudder) Final Fantasy IV re-packages. On the other hand, the new PSP/NGP is the same strategy as the first PSP -- more hardware, better specs, etc. I can't see how that's gonna win, given the past.
Thing is as you said the PSP was at a higher price then. This time both systems are going to be $249+ range so it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
drop the prices on ds's please :D my last one was stolen i want a new one lol.
lol, now i look at it i realise that it was fugly
The DS is dead cause of the 3DS
You will be missed DS! We have four Ds's around my house two lights a phat and an xl..which i will be trading all in for my new shiny 3ds!
