wow this going to be a killer app.

how will i be drowned to death?

HolyOrangeCows2791d ago

There's no way on this planet that you can faithfully represent the act of swimming in this manner. This is WAAAY up there in the most ridiculous things that I've ever seen in gaming.

505 games doesn't exactly have a very good track record. It's a good thing (....for them) that they have Phelps. Because otherwise....

DualConsoleOwner2791d ago

yup. this confirms it. Xbox 360 is new Wii

RSPproductionz2791d ago

il get this on my pc as the kinect games a superior

Rumor2790d ago

Jaces2790d ago

Man, MS is totally going to own E3! Just wait, the Kinect games are only going to get better as time goes on.

Silly fanboys don't even know what MS is hiding up their sleeves for 2011! /s

Wow. Just wow.

A swimming video game that will be the most realistic and intense... and yet how do you do that with a swimming game when you can't swim in front of your Kinect? I mean, it's really going to be just a lot of swinging your arms about, in a repetitive manner isn't it?

blumatt2791d ago

Exactly. lol And I just... uhh yeah. I'm just not gonna say anything more. lol I guess I will. Who really wants to swing their arms around and around...... in front of them with no physical feedback (like a Wiimote or Move controller). Why even pay the money for the game when you can do that without a console or game at all?

Bigpappy2791d ago

May be you haters are right about is sucking. But based on your history of picking Cinect successes and failures, I think I will wait for the demo to see how this one works out. No offense.

Biggest2791d ago

You tell 'em (us), Captain Kinect! You said that if we waited, the developers would show us what they've been cooking up. First we have Carnival Games and now we have Push the Limit. We're finally starting to see the awesome that was behind the scenes. Thanks for keeping us in check, Cap'n!

Christopher2791d ago

I'm really interested to hear from those who disagree with me on how a swimming game with any accessory other than a swimming pool can be "the most realistic and intense" game produced on said platform. I mean, even a swimming game on the Wii or Move is kind of ridiculous and just couldn't make the same claim as being "the most realistic and intense".

Note, those are the words from the news item, not my own.

@cgoodno - That why you dont get paid millions of dollars to develope video game. Just becasue you cant think of an intresting way to make this game work, that does not mean that other people cnt too.

Stick to your day job.

Christopher2790d ago

***That why you dont get paid millions of dollars to develope video game.***

People don't get paid millions of dollars to develop video games. They get millions of dollars to produce. The people who develop games get paid a lot less.

***Just becasue you cant think of an intresting way to make this game work, that does not mean that other people cnt too.***

I agree with you in general that because I can't think of a way to make a game work that others can't. But, and this is a big but, we're talking about it in the context of the statement that was made, which was "Promising to be one of the most realistic and intense sports simulation videogames ever." That's just not possible since there are racket games (tennis, table tennis), golf, pool table, and even volleyball games out there that fit this notion much better considering the manner in which you perform the sport actions are much more appropriate to standing/sitting and using your arms with the standard motions.

Swimming is a sport that involves diving into water and the using your legs to kick, body to motion, and arms to aid in propelling, and head to measure your breathing. All of this except the diving into the water portion intended to be done on a horizontal plane.

It's a ridiculous statement to make in the first place and one that brings to light gameplay, when attempting to make such a statement, that only results in the simulation of repetitive movements of the arms and legs.

I don't need to get paid millions of dollars to understand this.

The only way I see this game being "fun" if if there are mini games involved overall, which would then detract from their statement of it being "... the most realistic and intense sports simulation videogames ever."

***Stick to your day job. ***

Which is funny since my day job has involved the development of Web-based games as well as other Web-based social/community applications... I know it's not the same as developing a AAA game, but I'm fairly certain it's more than what most people have to go on with regards to understanding "video game development."

Zeevious2790d ago (Edited 2790d ago )

cgoodno is right.

I usually reserve judgment until I've played a game but unless this one comes with an accessory kit including a Ziplock bag large enough for your flatscreen TV, game system and a membership to the Y...

It could never replace the physics of fluid dynamics in any setting, including the pool I have -- and that's just filled with money, just so it's harder to swim in.

SnakeMustDie2791d ago

This will be interesting. Can't wait for more details.

BeastModeYMOB2791d ago

I have a big ass in ground pool in my backyard if i want 2 do that. No thanks.

awiseman2791d ago

Interesting, it has potential to be amazing, but it also has the potential to be garbage. It rests in the hands of the devs.

SuperStrokey11232791d ago

It has very little chance to be ok, even less to be good. I wouldnt even use the term amazing and this type of game in the same sentence. Its almost certainly going to be garbage shovelware.

JsonHenry2791d ago (Edited 2791d ago )

I'm not going to hold my breath on this title being anything but shovelware.

I want a "Condemned" style game with Kinect. Not this crap. If I wanted this I would have kept the Wii.

Apollyn2791d ago

I'm not entirely sure if this is just an early April fools joke from 505... seriously what?
