After conducting an interview with Tom Rigas, Producer on Socom 4, we found some amazing new details for the highly anticipated shooter.
Nice. I like me some nice smart AI. Dont get me wrong I cant stand when every bullet manages to catch me in the buttmeat.. i like when AI goes looking for you and properly uses cover. Resistance 1 had AI I liked alot.
Yes, Killzone 2 AI is very good, play it on skirmish in Elite Mode. Sometimes looks like the AI is being controlled by a Human.
Amazing that the enemies will be learning your tactics and countering them as you play.
Yeah Killzone AI is epic and from what i test at the E3 demo SOCOM 4 have great AI to, i bet in hard mode will be a pain in the ass, good thing is the 5 players co op!!! i'm GOIGN TO PLAT THIS BABY SKv007, You mean COD useless anoying AI? And KILLZONE 2 was a chaos at the end since the setting was a total chaos everybody shooting everybody, i never felt that is was bad just harsh but in a good way.
I don't think I'd consider 'all frags and bullets hit me' as good AI. (I'm talking about Rainbow Six Vegas here lol) That is just as faulty as an AI not noticing you at all. Good AI is hard to come by, but when you do find a game w/ such. It's great to replay a game. Killzone 2 had pretty neat AI, but still needed work. (the AI came down to be pretty horrible near end game in Elite once EVERYONE was shooting at you even if you had allies) Horde mode in Gears 2 AI sometimes kicked my ass w/ it's strategies.. but sometimes I'd just laugh my ass off after it just keep walking into a wall. And yes, R1 AI was awesome. They used Cover, grenades and everything w/o making the game impossible (even in the hardest diffculty)
I reckon COD AI is the best, because i like the way they ignore everyone else and just shoot you...i also like how they shoot you straight a way, when you go to move out of cover, talk about great AI! =D s/ Sorry about that...but on topic, i am looking forward to playing me some great AI in SOCOM, love this game! =D
It makes or breaks a game...
The weird thing I noticed is that Uncharted 2's AI was bad. They sometimes kill themselves and/or their allies. They ignore grenades and sometimes do this weird thing in which they're facing one way, then their bullets fly out at an angle and find you. THEN they turn to face you. But they're so much fun to fight, it hardly matters.
I remember Killzone 2 had some vicious AI when playing it on the harder difficulties. I cant remember how many times Ill be in a heated fire fight and think I am kicking ass until I hear those cold words" I'm gonna put this knife in ya!!" from a scout who held his fire to sneak around then shank me from behind. If Socom 4 delivers the same experience where I'm wishing to grow a third eye while playing the game, I'll be happy.
and the other great modes Socom always has. Don't get trapped in the casualization, those modes will impress any shooter fan. They'll be hooked, you have to bring them back.
Judging by the latest Socom podcast Ive heard, they have gone the way of the do-do. I'm already angry of the removal of pistols and grenade arc, two primary weapons, no lobbies....the list goes on. Please don't remind me of the MP right now because I am trying to cheer myself up with KZ news.
I know, i guess we will have to hope for a dlc that brings all the classic modes back. Its all you people fault buying that bs of a game "COD" It sales well because casuals and hardcore user buy it, but if hardcore stop buying it it will stop sale in well. And other games like SOCOM or KILLZONE, Resistence will not be ruined for the hardcore just because they are trying to appeal to the COD crowd
cant wait to play this game
Wont mean SWEET FA if the game isnt fun to play.
single player socom2 was one of the toughest things ever on Hard. CANT WAIT for the SP. couldnt care less for the MP
ps2 games in general were hard, even nintendo lol but not because of the great AI...
