GameShard writes: "What makes you scared? Horror is a very subjective thing; what disturbs or terrifies one person might completely pass someone else by. For me, games like Resident Evil have never really made me feel scared or on edge, whilst the psychological horror of the likes of Silent Hill gets to me so much that I gave up, whimpering, some point into the second game and have never dared to return since.
Visceral's Dead Space had its fair share of disturbing, horror-inducing moments, many of which came about from the terrific atmosphere of the derelict spaceship, the USS Ishimura, and the unbearable solitude of the game. What didn't work so well was the reliance on cheap scares to unnerve the player, and rather too much combat for its own good."
