Destructoid: Two Worlds II Reviews

Destructoid: "Reality Pump had perhaps one of the most enviably easy jobs in videogame history -- create a game that was better than Two Worlds. When Naughty Dog needs to make an Uncharted sequel, it has an increasingly tough act to follow -- all Reality Pump needed to do was to be better than the worst roleplaying game created this generation.

Without further ado, it is my privilege and honor to confirm to you that yes ... Two Worlds II is better than Two Worlds!

I know ... that doesn't tell you anything."

Haven't played an open-world RPG since Oblivion. NEED to pick this up, now.

That was a rather funny, but true statement :D

Yea I think they are working up to an extremely awesome game in the future. The first one was definitely nothing to go crazy over but I liked it for the concept or what it could have been but I have to say this one is 100x better. It still is not the best it could be yet but on its way there. I definitely like the magic system, one of the best so far in RPGs in my opinion. I think there next game will greatly improve also if they keep listening to the fans like they did with this one.

A couple things that bugs me with the console version is the armor/weapon sets being all mixed in with the rest of your inventory with no way to separate or atleast arrange then in whatever order you want so it would make it easier to know what to keep, sell, or break down when you can assign up to 3 different on the fly quick changing armor/weapon sets to fit the battle situation . I think they could have come up with a better way with that. But not a game breaker by any means , just means you have to pay more attention to what you have equipped in your 3 sets by switching back an forth between them to see if it is assigned to one of the sets.

The only other thing that to me they could have done better was not put one button for sprint, sneak and block. Because if you want to sneak(unarmed only) you have to completely stop moving which is not that bad or annoying as trying to block(armed only) which you once again have to completely stop before the character will block or you will start sprinting. It is annoying if you are against a tough opponent in a CQ fight and you have to completely stop to make him block which has gotten me killed a few times. Not a game breaker either just annoying. Might have to get the Steam version to see if it plays better for me with M/Kb.

But overall definitely a must have for RPG fans.

Jim got it right for once!

Jim gets it right most of the time. People just don't like it.

I hope this game really is good. I hated the first one.

I agree with the review, but it definitely brings me back to just a couple of weeks ago when Jim reviewed LittleBigPlanet 2. This game is not better than LittleBigPlanet 2. Not saying this game doesn't deserve this score. But LittleBigPlanet 2 was so under-rated.

Or, LBP2 was better in your opinion. Maybe Jim Sterling just likes TW2 more, what is so wrong with that?
