Splinter Cell Trilogy HD Screens are Just Xbox Screens

Earlier today, Ubisoft formally announced Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Trilogy HD exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Alongside that announcement, Ubisoft also released a batch of screens showcasing the title and the new visual upgrade the trilogy will receive when it releases in March. Though the screens look solid, internet detectives discovered that they may not be what they seem. (PS3, Splinter Cell Trilogy)

Internet detectives have discovered Xbox bullshots...shock!

The Screen shots that Ubisoft released don't look anything in HD or prove that the graphics have improved at all compared to God of War collection and the Sly Collection. Which is why some people are saying that these are just Xbox screen shots or thinking Ubisoft is doing a half ass job.

I'm thinking the latter and that this is going to be a direct port with little improvement to the graphics, framerate, etc. :/ Here's hoping I'm wrong.

Played all the games (a million years ago). They were good then, don't know if I would want to go back in play them though. Not too innovative by today's standards. I would rather try (and suffer through) Alpha Protocol, now.

I played Splinter Cell Conviction, its mediocre. I won't be looking forward to this.

You're wrong twice. These aren't anything like Conviction, and Conviction was great anyway.

Examiner uses pop-ups on internet user!
It's super effective!
Firefox fainted!
Stupid Examiner.
(Don't tell me to download pop-up blocker...it affects me using certain sites)
(I've NEVER had a good experience with that FF add-on)

If the framerate is good, it has its online modes, and the price is right, I wouldn't mind.

It's Ubisoft, king of bullshots why are people shocked? Anyone see the early Red Steel videos they showed? Or Haze bullshots? Or SC: Double Agent Wii version? These and next gen-Madden are among the most offensive bullshots ever.
Now if it is real and they did use the xbox version i'm totally ok with it, it looks about as good as an early PS3 game so not bad at all.

If HD means looking as good as Xbox, what's the point? If you have an Xbox 360 you might as well buy them the Xbox version for like 75% cheaper.
kaveti6616  +   1613d ago
or for PC for even cheaper

I never liked Splinter Cell so I don't care. It's just a wanna be MGS clone.

Hmm, one problem, these are HD screens and the Xbox wasn't an HD console.

NEXT.

Actually the north american version of the first sku for the original xbox had a chip to upscales to 720p!Some games like the first Splinter cell,Ninja gaiden,Otogi,Panzer dragoon... were payable at HD resolutions! All you have to do its hook up a component adaptor to an HD screen!

That was just upscaling to fit flat screens. I've played those "HD" Xbox games, and it's not true HD.

Those screens on the link were not graphics produced on a Xbox. They're bullshots.

Backwards compatibility >>>>>HD remakes.

PS3 does a good a good job of upscaling PS1/PS2 games(and DVDs) imo.

This is not bad at all. The Xbox versions looked much better than the PS2 versions. I'm actually glad to hear this. Not to mention I'm pretty sure some of the PS2 versions had less features than the Xbox counter-parts.

Trophies + Xbox versions upgraded for PS3 and sold at $40 makes me smile.
JEW_UNIT  +   1613d ago
This is an ubisoft game...I'll wait till it hits $10 soon after release.
nevin1  +   1613d ago
lol @ Jew Unit.

Hell I can probably get all games for that price at gamestop.

Do they have the online coop and multiplayer of Chaos theory? Thats a more important faeature for me than the graphics.
