Sony details the PS1-to-PSN process, mentions Tombi!

Over on the European PlayStation Blog, PS Store team member Ross McGrath runs down how PlayStation titles are prepped and cleared for release on PSN. It's a more in-depth process than you'd think, unless you spend your days contemplating such things. Weirdo.

Yes!!!! Tomba was awesome! I actually never got to play the full game. I had a demo of it on a demo disc. (Ah, demo discs. Such retro pieces of game media. haha) Anyway, I wish I had bought the damn game now cause it fetches like $80 or more on ebay now.

I love the game. I played the second one and love it. I bought part 1 on ebay in mint conditions and I havent played the game, but I did play 2 and love it

No worries if you enjoy something why not? I couldn't spend that much on an old game but I am a cheap skate. I played the demo of the 1st and I think I quite enjoyed it. May have to check it out.

Its tomba and i remember that i always pressed double jump in tomba 2 because the double jump looked awesome, it looked like he was dropping.

Went through the whole blog article and Vib Ribbon was requested... but, damn, that game needs to be remade to take advantage of music on the HDD and upped to 1080p, not a classic release.

When I read the post on the EU PS Blog earlier today, I didn't know it was called that in EU and AUS either...when I read "Tombi" I just thought it was a spelling error and assumed he meant Tomba.

Anyway, I'm VERY glad to hear that Tomba will be coming to the PSN in the near future. I remember I bought either the first or second game on PS1 and totally loved it, but misplaced it 10+ years ago...I didn't even get a chance to finish the game. If the disc versions on Ebay were a bit cheaper I would've re-bought a physical disc version years ago, but I'm glad I'll finally be able to download and play through this soon via PSN.

The good thing is if Sony decides to put it on PSN for like $10 or $15, it will make the disc version lose a bit of value, so you can get it at a reasonable price. Cause right now, a new copy of Tomba on ebay goes for like $80 or more.

Yeah I know, the disc versions of Tomba are pretty pricey. If the physical copies of Tomba go down in price because of the PSN release, I might even buy the physical version again in addition to the Downloadable PSN Version just to have it sitting on my shelf again :)

Yeah I'd rather have the physical version. And for those who don't know, or have been fooled to believe otherwise, All PlayStation 3 systems can play PS1 disc games!!! It's just some can't play PS2 disc games. Just so people know.

I actually played that same exact demo on that disk a few months ago. I spent hours on it, what a LONG demo. It was funny playing it on my PS3.
