Good thing it didn't although I've never played it :), the first one I played was vice city on ps2 and since then I love the series even though most people complained about GTA IV

I'm not a big fan of the original but without that game none of the other GTA games would've been made. That would've sucked if one of the greatest series of all time never happened.

When I played the first GTA, I thought it was like what people think it is now. And that's just stealing cars and killing people in a violent rage! It took me a while to realize it actually had missions.

Sad thing is, people still play these games and don't know that the letters and symbols on the map are missions. They are shocked to find out there is actually a story to it!

great series until GTA4. Jesus WTF happened with that game.

It got more realistic, more gritty, more story-driven. Some people couldn't deal w/ that and they can go play Saints Row.

If they were going to do that should have just created a new IP

Thanks god it didn't... GTA 3 and San Andreas were my favourite of the series. GTA IV was a big disappointment.

As of now 3 GTA articles on the front page... Gearing up for an announcement maybe?

Wow, amazing. So what started out as a huge mistake turned out to be the thing that made the game great. Amazing story.

I have fond memories of GTA 1, it evolved beautifully throughout the years.
