Andrew Cretella writes: "The real problem with this advertising campaign however, is that it is misguided and misses its mark, because studies and surveys over the years have indicated that teenagers actually comprise the minority of gamers and that the average age of gamers is over 30. Even young, dependent, over-18 legal adults are usually beyond the teenage rebelliousness of doing things just to spite their parents, so these advertisements have no cultural resonance with the majority of the game’s target audience. It was a miscalculation by whoever devised the campaign, one that won’t have any serious negative consequences only because Dead Space 2 was going to sell well regardless."
