UCSC students create video games in 48-hour race

Vanessa Valencia, a sophomore game design student at UC Santa Cruz, hopes one day to develop video games for a company like Sony. To gain experience programming under pressure, she and about 50 other UCSC students with similar aspirations participated in the third annual Global Game Jam this weekend.
Put on by the International Game Developers Association, the jam, which kicked off at 4:30 p.m. Friday and ends today at 3 p.m., is a free 48-hour race to create fully-functioning video games and board games. The UCSC students are not the only ones developing games, though.

Sony don't make video games, so she won't ever make a game for Sony, she might make a game which releases on a Sony platform, or maybe even work for a company hired by Sony to create a game. But as of right now...
