But as with any announcement, there was a LOT to take in. Here are some key facts you might have missed that illustrate what the Sony NGP is all about:
"Sony claims that the combination of two touchpads and thumbsticks allows for "touch, grab, trace, push and pull" moves of the fingers." I got wario ware vibes from reading that, i'd love a wario ware style game on this would be pretty hectic.
i mite have to get one of these, even though im not big on hand-helds! has any sort of on-line multi-player been confirmed yet??
I'm hoping Japan Studio would do so in a form of Ape Escape. But seriously, a Patapon version for the PSP2 would be a monster of an interactive feature. -End of Line
Now this is a Sony device I can be excited about! Is it wrong the OLED screen has me more excited than anything else about it?
"NGP's quad-core GPU setup is four times as powerful as top-of-the-range current mobile platforms." Consider me excited.
beast all i can say.
"NGP has a five inch, 960 x 544, 16:9 OLED screen. In terms of resolution, that's almost the same as the native rendering resolution of both Alan Wake on Xbox 360 and Call of Duty: Black Ops on PS3. The original PSP sported a 480 x 272 display, for those of you who love to compare." wow thats crazy
Almost? It IS the same rez as AW and PS3 BOps.
COD could run on the PSP2 without any downgrades then! XD
Wow, Black ops is only 960 x 544? lol it says 1080p on the back of the case. PSP2 doesn't need be 720p. On a 5 inch OLED screen it will look amazing.
up-resed to 1080p, native resolution is different
man i know most of us are really excited to play Uncharted on the NGP but i was really really impressed at the way Little Deviants is supposed to be played and im really loving the first party line up they showed , i would add either Motorstorm or Gran Turismo but its really great nonetheless and i hope they dont release Killzone and Resistance at the same time
Yeah we are all excited about uncharted on psp2 but what will really get the hype train in full motion is if sony announce a God Of War game(Not a port) As Part of the psp2 launch title.
glad i'm not the only one :)
Little Deviants looks really fun , doesnt it ? Smart As and Reality Fighters too lol , i need to see more about Gravity Daze but i loved all of the videos , cant freaking wait to play Resistance , Killzone , LBP ( i saw 2 sackboys on the screen at the same time ) and all the new games , they really impressed me with their first party line up
NGP is an alien technology made by Sony.
Grey enginers. Extra terrestial design. Lets spy on the SONY HQ... Im sure there are some saucers landing on the roof every now and then... greys: http://market.renderosity.c...
Hopefully one of those grey's won't leave it in a busy bar or something...
it's an awesome machine from just the tech specs.it opens up a world of ideas beyond other portables.i'm sorry but it's true.NGP almost sounds like what nintendo SHOULD have built as successor to gameboy advance.which i still have with the afterburner light built in before nintendo started making them with light included. http://www.gaminggeneration... touch screen, touch back panel, twin sticks and cameras.in theory you could: 1.play any game that was or will be made for ipod and iphone or ipad.very smart in sony combating apple and nintendo with one portable with BUTTONS. 2.play any game or franchise that was or will be made for ps3 and 360. 3.but this is where it gets killer......the cameras and the position locators..i think it's called NEAR. with the camera, you can have augmented reality games on the go beyond what invizimals was on psp.you could have first person shooter, flying games etc where you actually have to turn around or look up,down, etc to shoot your enemy.might look funny seeing someone hold their NGP and moving and looking all around in a 360 degree motion.you would think they were having a seizure. and the locator function to know others playing the same game you are.you could have them as enemies or friends and chase them down to take them out.almost like hide and seek but with NGP.they could be friend or foe.and with the camera, the NGP screen makes them look like a helgast ISA or an enemy from resistance with face recognition.i used to hear of people playing games with GPS systems and going on scavanger hunts.this is something similar. there's just so many possibilities that it's just mind blowing.
theres so much potencial with the NGP i only hope that the devs support it
at the show, you had capcom present, freaking KOJIMA, epic, like 2 more devs, and a list of already confirmed devs, including ubisoft, rockstar, and so many others. pretty much any developer that is developing on the consoles, are in the line for NGP. consider your hope a reality son
with the new features especially the 2 thumb sticks!! and easier dev kit i think we'll see a lot more devs making games at the very least ports for the system maybe they'll even have games that come with a psp2 version and ps3/ps2 remake together like portal hopefully but mini's alone are enough for my money thoose fun little suckers give me critter cruch make it online too and i'm in heaven E3 should be awesome and of course ps1 and ps2 games should work with it sotc, ico, sly, ratch and clank, god of war, crash etc
Possibly only one territory? I don't care, if I have to import then I will!
I bet a lot of us would do just that...included ME!!! I don't care if I have to pay $300-400 just to get one, day one! Black or White is the problem... I had black PSP, PSP GO, so this time I'm thinking about White PSP2.
I still have my old fatty white PSP from launch day! I need this PSP2 on day one. xD
It's probably not true, i watched the conference and they didn't mention only one territory. They only said during holiday 2011 And sony is not nintendo, nintendo likes to release japan first and always have regionlock.
The thing is, I'm already with the disadvantage because I live in Europe so knowing my luck we'll be the last to get it.
You still complain by living in Europe? What about me, that lives in South America?
I think the greatest reason the psp 2 is looking to be the best handheld is the open ness of it. Developers will have an easier time developing great games for it. That and the second thumb stick.
i think i,ll buy it on day 2
I like the touch pad!! and call of duty with 2 analog stick it's awesome
Sony is dead serious about videogames
