Wow the psp2 is amazing. I can't believe they ported that dungeon game in a week. The psp2 look easy to develop for and hopefully it cheap to make games for it. Now i really think sony gone to beat nintendo in the handheld market.

MintBerryCrunch2392d ago

reasonable price and proper marketing will make it happen...

trippyaaron2392d ago

it'll probably be around $300-350. i assume its a lot like the ps3's hardware since they ported a ps3 game in a week.

jetlian2392d ago (Edited 2392d ago )

was smart they make that uncharted a new game and release it with the system. this holiday and it could sell a few million psp2 and catch 3ds

BattleAxe2392d ago

Ok, I want....

Resistance: Fall of Man
Resistance 2
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
Uncharted 2
Killzone 2
God of War 3
God of War Collection
MGS 4
MGS Collection (hopefully)

All of the ported to the NGP.

PLASTICA-MAN2392d ago

I can even notice volumetric rays coming through the leaves of trees. Not only NGP can run Unreal Engine 3 but it can run the HIGHEST version of it!

inveni02391d ago

Yeah, those god rays were awesome. That's an effect you don't see on handhelds...at least not where they don't look like alpha mapped planes.

So much better graphics than 3DS omg :o

inbetweener2392d ago

How could anyone disagree with this comment? Does Stevie Wonder lurk the N4G comments section?

ABizzel12392d ago

My guess is the 1 week port was because it looks like it was a PSN game. I think that's great that PSN games will be easily ported since those are the kind of games a handheld needs. Hopefully you'll be able to move the ones you already have over the the device.

Stealth20k2392d ago (Edited 2392d ago )

dellusion runs high.

With an almost year head start, preorders sold out sony isnt beating nintendo in the handheld market especially with the software nintendo is touting....multiple million dollar sellers at launch (nintendogs, doa, dynasty warriors, ect)

I remember when the psp was announced after the ds was and I am hearing alot of the same chest pounding stuff..............but look how that turned out

I am buying both too

Perjoss2392d ago

I have no doubt in my mind the NGP is far superior to the 3DS, sadly the above comment is true, in terms of sales the 3DS will blow it away.

Me? I will be buying both on day 1.

NoobSessions2392d ago

Hit it on the nail Stealth20k.

Perjos said exactly what I was going to say too.

jetlian2392d ago

Nintendo only expects to sell 5 million by years end. If sony can get a brand new uncharted, killzone, resistance on psp2 they could sell 5 million in 2 months with that line up

webeblazing2392d ago

every console that launch gets sold out but like people said above me its not gonna out sale 3ds people usually buy handhelds for their kids plus 3rd party support nin handheld heavy one of the reasons y psp was so hard for people 2 buy

iceman062392d ago

Once again, we are quibbling about purely sales when we should really be talking about increasing or improving foothold in the portable market. I highly doubt that Sony can dethrone the 20 yr. champ in Nintendo. But, they might be able to carve themselves a bigger, better niche and make and ruffle some feathers (much like MS has done). Sony sold 64 million PSP's (half of what DS sold). Maybe they increase to 80 million NGP's and close that gap. More importantly, gain some mind-share for further projects.

jetlian2392d ago

nintendo wants 4 million by the end of their fiscal year. sony better bring that line up.

kids probably won't get 3ds at 250

kewlkat0072392d ago (Edited 2392d ago )

Where have we seen that before...oh yeah, The Original PSP is ever better than the Wii...yet where it matters Nintendo wins.

Why do people equate a particular game on a console and it's success, as if, it will equal the same on it's handheld counterpart? SPLIT Demographics.

EPIC is really good at what they do. Simple fact.
Anyone ever play Infinity Blade on Ipod touch? Great looking game.

i am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GETTING THIS... seeing that level of detail and anti aliasing on a handheld just makes me wonder wtf will next gen consoles be doing.. OH MY HEAD hurts.

and hearing him mention porting console titles to ngp is sooo gonna rock hard..!! pay killzone or uncharted 2 with ps3 players online.. or dc universe.. as u go to whatever u are doing ... ppl wont have lives anymore.

ALFAxD_CENTAURO2392d ago (Edited 2392d ago )

Dungeon defenders is not ported.

This game was designed for PS3, but Epic Games decided to move the same game to NGP and according to them, the game didn't loose any quality with NGP but still is in development.

TheDivine2392d ago

Is it? It looked just like the iphone 4 demo of epic citidel to me. The graphics levels are about the same although uncharted was leaps and bounds above anything ive seen. This seems pretty powerful somewhwere between psp and the 360. Definately not ps3 level but its better than i thought and im saving money as we speak.

gamer20102392d ago

Yeah the PSP2 has no competition in the handheld market as far as graphics go. It's not even close. The graphics the PSP2 put out are basically on the level of the HD consoles, while the 3DS looks decidedly more last gen.

syanara2392d ago

@mintBerry Crunch

Proper Marketing? I got 2 words for ya

KEVIN BUTLER!!!!
ha ha at any rate a kevin butler spot for this would be hilarious BTW heres a joke for any KB twitter followers

NGP has a game that from eBiK

The real killer2392d ago (Edited 2392d ago )

It's not a PC ;)
You are a PC guy, what do want a PSP2 anyway.

toaster2392d ago

lol That's dumb. Handhelds are different than consoles. I'm a PC guy as well that owns 2 consoles. I've also owned every Nintendo handheld since the original GameBoy.

captain-obvious2392d ago

dont know why but the game they showed reminds me of DoTA somehow

Pandamobile2392d ago

I'm a PC guy who also happens to own a PS3.

Haven't had a handheld since my Gameboy Color. Bout time that changed.

Simon_Brezhnev2392d ago

I dont think i had a had a handheld since gamegear. If the price is right i'll be getting this.

HolyOrangeCows2392d ago (Edited 2392d ago )

Panda want not-PC? Cow not understand. Panda no like not-PCs.
[Insert neanderthalic console gamer grunting]

It looks amazing. Somewhere between the 6th gen and 7th gen. That's pretty friggin' impressive. Anti-aliasing, post-processing effects, a big and detailed environment.....sheesh.
1:28
DAT LIGHTING EFFECT.

People fear that with this power will come an unreasonable price, but in all fairness, the PSP looked between Ps1 and Ps2 when it launched. We'll just have to wait and see, and hope our fears are wrong (though keeping in mind subjectivity of the issue).

CernaML2392d ago

Anti Aliasing?!?!?! On the Unreal Engine 3?!?!?! ON A HANDHELD?!?!?!

dgroundwater2392d ago

The best part about handhelds is that jaggies are inherently harder to see. The 5" lets a developer get away with stuff that would be much more obvious on a 46" television.

Unreal's aliasing could be overkill :)
