Smoking Guns and Cigarettes

United States Congressman Joe Baca (D-California) is working on passing a bill that will require video games with a rating of T or higher to have this warning printed on them: "WARNING: Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behavior."

The story is too old to be commented.

These guys don't have anything better to do. Shouldn't they be trying to improve the economy or something. Seriously there are better things to do then target video games.

easy target when they try to look clean in the eyes of everyone ...

kinda like : " Look at this threat to our children !! i'll protect you ".

it's full of lies of course but it works in the eyes of the uniformed

real guns don't kill real people, virtual guns do!

ally123452703d ago

but...it hasn't.

isn't it basically unanimous that the studies done on such cases were so varied in results that there was no DEFINITE way to prove that games did or didn't cause agresiveness?

femshep2703d ago

except for the proven fact it hasn't? oh governments how you lie all the time

Video games are a great escape from a busy day. A good stress relief. If anything it calms me. So I don't know where they get this. As a parent it is my job to deem what is acceptable for my kids not their job.

Whenever I have a stressful day at work I play Godfather and beat the hell out of people. Relieves my stress

You have been either really young or really messed in the head to link violent behavior with video games. It's a video game. Not real life.
