ROQ gots the first video of the demonstration
Remember to view the source link for complete information, as well as more images and video of the NGP (PSP 2.)
good video. hopefully tomorrow there should be better quality ones
That video is garbage. I love seeing this thing, but I want to actually see it. Anyway the NGP is a monster device. I should have expected this much but Sony has me speechless right now.
Uncharted PSP Video! http://www.youtube.com/watc... Even with the crappy quality, you can tell this is the Next Gen Portable All these features make me want this. The question now, is the price...
Perfect timing from Sony I was all set to buy a 3ds but now I think I'll save my money for this beauty!! @ dormin thanks for the vid looks fantastic!
What type of games will it be using, UMD, cd, download only or what? Release date and price would be cool as well. So far I like what I see I just hope it is not just downloadable games and these videos are blah you can barely hear anything.
That's a great idea. You can actually see the screen when you touch something. Screw the stylus on DS because i'd lose that thing.
Watch vids at bottom of page!!!! http://www.gamekudos.com/ne...
Am I the only one that thinks they should ditch the touch pad on the back? It would lower costs and I just can't see too many devs making full use of it. Most developers for the Nintendo DS are still having trouble making full use of the touch pad, without it feeling like a gimmick or making it feel like it was added at the last moment. I say get rid of it and you can drop the price a bit more.
Is anyone not really liking the idea of using the touch pad in games? Im hoping the traditonal control scheme will still be able to be used in all games. I don't know, I guess I'll have to try it out for myself before I pass judgement.
I want this gaming device ASAP!!!!! NGP FTW!!!
PSP2 day 1 purchase. And a call of duty game with it i'll bury underground and play forever!
This thing is revolutionary, where does 3DS stand now? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, total network capabilities, 3G, wifi, blututh...omg fucking godmompop
PSP2 says 3DS eat 3DEEPSHIT!
Doesnt a Iphone do all that? with 4G?
@Theyellowflash30 I never knew the Iphone had games that were close to PS3 graphics?! I leaned something new today :/
@Theyellowflash30 No, iPhone does not support 4G yet and neither does AT&T. They are currently in the plans of putting up 4G though.
Theyellowflash...did you even saw that press on engadget?...lol and people comparing NGP to future phones, by looking at its capabilities at the fact of all the ps2 games playable out there. Psp2 won this already, sry nintendo, when u come with a better idea than 3D which is not by far in the same level as what the DS was in its prime, anyway, open new place to the portable king LOL. Now capcom for god sake, port all the resident evil ASAP, damn it. How can u compare even iphone to this thing? http://www.blogcdn.com/www.... Jerking off right now
@theyellowflash don't get me wrong I love my iPhone but I can see me selling it to get one of these - the problem with gaming on iPhone is touch screen only controls make even the simplest tasks stupidly difficult!!

Iv mentioned this before, and I'll mention this again... no 3.5mm headphone port? Its not listed nor is there a clear image of it on the device. Maybe the new connection port will be for the headphone port.
They would never leave a 3.5mm headphone port out. It's pretty much implied.
4 Cores. That's all I have to say.
That's cool. Now tell me the price. NAOW! @Below Me too.
I'm concerned about the battery life too
Yeah Kaz has is plugged in during the whole demonstration
Thats my biggest concern. But I game at home anyway so it's not that big of a deal for me.
Purpose, you have been defeated by RememberThe357.
Yeah the battery life won't be hugely impressive, but who cares man? Most people aren't going to be playing it on the go for more than a couple hours. Most people play their portable on the couch, truth be honest. A CoD game on the PSP2 will guarantee sales for the device, that and an Uncharted and Killzone and Metal Gear Solid games, etc. etc. There will be killer games on the PSP2. Guaranteed!
Should be better than the previous PSP battery life since they did away with the UMD format. Keeping that little disc spinning was a big drain of battery life.
@teedogg80 very very very good point. +Bubs
But with that savings in battery they just crammed in more power. I'll buy an extended battery anyways for those long trips. Wish it could have been out by this summer for when I go to Hawaii. Long ass flight.
Spelling words like "naow" is stupid.
It's because he's gone crazy from how amazing it looks.
I think I read in another post its estimated to last around 4-5 hours which is really good consider the amount of work it does.
Sweet, looks pretty damn good.
there will no doubt be high qual vids soon!
better be all these recorded steamed ones suck
I really hope they throw this whole press conference onto the PSN tomorrow.. or maybe even release it to the internet right after it’s done! But quite frankly, I have nothing to ask of from Sony right now... they’ve done enough. haha
Oh my god......I NEED IT. But that video is horrible quality, even for a stream.
This isn't a video. It is a slideshow.
Man I have a feeling with all this tech they're going to price it at least $299 though.
if you think about it, thats the right pricing for it. just hope it doesnt go over $300. i will definately pay $300 for the NGP. EDIT: HOLY CRAP THEY"RE PLAYING YAKUZA ON IT RIGHT NOW!
i hope they dont go over 300 too but with all that features idk what that price gonna be.they aint say how long the battery life
If they went over $300 they'll blow it. Then again, I said they blew it with a $600 ps3 and everything turned out ok in the end. Still couldn't afford a launch ps3 >:( so hopefully I can afford this.
Im guessing the battery life on this thing wont last very long, but I guess we'll see.
Yeah, then again so are most smart phones and the older model PSP. It really isn't a issue to me, I'd just get a second battery.
who needs 3DS im getting PSP2 on launch day
I need a 3DS cuz I like Nintendo's first party software. No need to bash the 3DS over the PSP 2 that we dont even know all the details about.
How are you even here if you missed the details? Everyone else seems to know them.
=D if they announce that i will die happy
it looked awesome :D Running in real time.
Yakuza is pretty much confirmed, right? so, die already! ...lol kidding!
erm they just showed uncharted metal gear and yakuza to show what it can do it dosnt mean there gonna put them on it
@Biggest We don't know all the important details like: Price, 3G support cost, Battery life, Launch title games, what media the games are on, price of games, ect. - Thats why I said "know ALL the details about"
holy crap looks sick and i think i saw a right analog stick!! the sounds in the video though are probably the most annoying i've everrr heard.
im happy with portable trophy whoring.
You're spot on lashes2ashes! ... I have a Trophy problem.. this is just going to make it worse. This PSP2/NGP looks great!
as long as this is integrated with current PSN ID, I'll be very very happy!
Maybe I'm just being ignorant or something but whats the use of the touch-screen in the back? I just dont see it being used for anything practical. Everything else looks amazing. Now on top of all the games I'm gonna buy this year, I also have to save up for the NGP...
I think the rear touch panel is needed when you don't want your fingers clogging up the screen. But just my guess...
It can possibly be used for an R2/L2. Remember recentley, a company designed physical analogue sticks for iDevices? Maybe somebody or even Sony could make a physical L2 or R2 button. Wont exactly be a trigger but if its needed or would be of great use in games, could be a great little adapter.
Its going to be interesting to see how its integrated into game plan. Oh.. and I feel your pain. The PSP2/NGP is an unexpected expense for 2011. Here's hoping that the price is sub $250.00
You had to see the game that was using it. The touch pad on the back matches the screen in the front. So if your fingers is on the back right corner of the back touch pad,its would be the same as if you have your finger on the front right corner of the screen. One of the games called little deviants, the demonstrator was using the back touch pad to control the little character around, and it makes sense since how you would hold the NGP to start with. You can also use 2 fingers at the time on the touch pads.
Also in the Uncharted demonstration....the rear touch pad was used to get Drake to climb up the environment....picture your left and right index fingers climbing up the NGP. The possibilities with the rear touch pad and front touch screen are endless....almost.
Ya. I saw the uncharted gameplay. It was pretty cool. I kinda get it now.
i am happy that they included a touchscreen as well. I dont really like the touchpad much (although that may change when i get my hands on it)
