Dragon Age 2 has 103 mins of cutscenes

BioWare fantasy role-playing game Dragon Age 2 has a whopping 103 minutes of cutscenes.

The impressive figure was revealed by the BBFC, which has given the game its expected 18-rating certificate for "strong bloody violence".

Dragon Age 2's 103 minutes of cutscenes eclipses Killzone 3's 70 minutes worth, revealed by the BBFC earlier this month. (Dragon Age 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

They will get a free pass in reviews because its Bioware.

Or.. you know.. Bioware actually makes good games. *shrugs*

ME and ME2 are some of my favorite RPGs in the past 5 years, with Witcher at the top of that list. Dragon Age was good, but Witcher topped it in every way. Still doesn't mean that DA is a bad game.

Dragon Age is horrible compared to The Witcher. ME2 was ok just another generic save the universe from aliens story. The Witcher 2 will demolish ME2 and DA2.

To be fair I hate Western RPG's but I can't help but admit what good games Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age are.
Akagi  +   1561d ago
Because every single Western RPG is terrible in comparison to, say, FF13?
Shane Kim  +   1561d ago
Yes they are. It's just something wrong with western RPG's.
Blacktric  +   1561d ago
Congratulations on making one of the worst trolling attempts on N4G. Here, let me try;

Gears Of War is another generic TPS game.
Uncharted is another generic Indiana Jones/Tomb Raider ripoff.
Metal Gear Solid is a generic movie.
Halo is a generic space shooter.

Wow. Since I said this, now all of those games become worthless, yeey!
/s

What makes Mass Effect and Dragon Age good is the care Bioware put into when they were creating their universe and characters. If you watched a video and commenting, its only natural to see those games as "generic".

I guess you havent played The Witcher if you did you would notice a lot of things even the story Dragon Age copied. Oh i played ME2 the character that i liked was Zaeed. Since you assumed i didnt play them. I guess since you love ME2 and DA everybody else should right?
Blacktric  +   1560d ago
No, but you have to respect people's opinions since vast majority loves Bioware's games. You might like The Witcher more than Dragon Age or Mass Effect but that doesn't give you a free pass to insult the games and company itself.

Take that Metal Gear Solid 4 :)
Aloren  +   1561d ago
Yeah, 103 mins of cutscenes in a RPG, wow, when do we play...
Kon  +   1559d ago
MGS4 comes in mind
Aloren  +   1559d ago
I know. I was being sarcastic. 103 mins on a game this long is nothing... I'd even say it's not enough.

Nothing wrong with that if the game is 40+ hrs (bioware rpg, chances are high), in comparison 103 min of cut scenes is nothing
Mr Microsoft  +   1561d ago
Yeah, that does seem like a lot at first glance, but as long as it helps flesh out the story, then it's fine by me.

And like you said, when you compare it to 40+hours of gameplay, it's not that bad at all.
jakethesnake  +   1561d ago
Nor do we know if you can see them all. Maybe there are different cut scenes that you will see depending on what actions you take.
NYC_Gamer  +   1561d ago
its alright since the game will be around 40hrs long
NeaL_ThA_GaMeR  +   1561d ago
yh not bad at all it'll obv be split up anyway like any other game
bumnut  +   1561d ago
Ive played mgs4 (cut scene daddy) Bring it on!
gypsygib  +   1561d ago
I like cut scenes, a lot of games have terrible or non-sensical stories. I'd love it they were all 1080p CG, It would be like getting a game and a movie combined in one.
MegaMohsi  +   1561d ago
could be on the PS3 version because of Blu-Ray (similar to FFXIII)
TheColbertinator  +   1561d ago
That's it? I actually wanted at least 5 hours of cutscenes
Stealth20k  +   1561d ago
dragon age 2 should be cool but there are plenty of other amazing rpgs this year to look out for..........

pokemon being my number 1
neogeo  +   1561d ago
Its weird how western RPG's have taken over. I like it
Shane Kim  +   1561d ago
Yeah. Sadly, they have. Hope FFvs13 can put JRPG's back on the map.
Kee  +   1561d ago
103 minutes is just fine, but I hope they're skippable because those of us who beat the game 3 times or so (vying for the platinum trophy) will not want to sit through them the second and third time.
Darkfiber  +   1559d ago
All (or nearly all) cutscenes in Bioware games are skippable, as is talking.
Tex117  +   1561d ago
Should be fun game to play around with. ANY improvement to the battle system for the consoles (Yes, PC version is superiour we know this) will be welcomed and be alot of fun.
mobijoker  +   1561d ago
Bioware just surpasses itself. The year of Bioware commences with great fashion.March-DA2 September-SWTOR November-ME3.Three AAA titles from the same developer in a year.Only bioware is capable of that.
megalonagyix  +   1561d ago
Well... Half-Life 2 managed to be a perfect game with zero mins of cutscenes
Darkfiber  +   1559d ago
Half-life 2 was a grey, dull, boring piece of ugly depressing shit.
