Another Crysis 2 vs. Crysis screenshot comparison. Lightning in Cryis 2 is damn good. Click on full-size image right below the image to get the original size.
looks the same.
you must be blind
@SJPFTW I agree, anyone can see Crysis 2 looks better, not saying this is on a top rig with all the mods but based on these screens alone Crysis 2 looks better, just be glad that they are even comparable, this is 5 year old tec afterall.
Pandamobile has some screens you should look at. Now these are real screenshots from the user in 1080p. http://forums.n4g.com/fb.as... He also has a video comparing CryEngine2 on PC vs Cryengine3 on consoles. http://www.youtube.com/watc... MASSIVE difference. Cryengine on console pales in comparison to the PC but that should be a no brainer. Only time will tell how CE2 vs CE3 will look on PC.
First off the Crysis 1 images, don't even look max. However, Crysis 2 does look good in those images. @toaster Thank you for those images and videos. My whole thing was how Crysis 2 compares to Crysis 1. On consoles of course it's going to be compared to Killzone because Killzone is the best looking game in it's genre on consoles. That being said Crysis 2 does look good on consoles. It has it's problems, but if I'm not mistaken they pushed the release date back to fall 2011, which gives them plenty of time to polish up the graphics, and fix the glitches. s for the video the first 30 seconds, shows it all. The PC version of Crysis blows the console versions out of the water. The console versions look good, but the PC version is clearly better. But at the end of the day you can't compare a high end PC to a console, because a console is fixed hardware, while a PC can be continuously modded and upgraded for better performance. SO PC fanboys and Xbox fanboys claiming to be PC fanyboys, stop comparing PC to consoles in a competitive manner. And consoles fanboys stop comparing console games to PC, because when the PC is at it's best it'll always win.
@abizzel We really need to get out of 2006. No ones comparing a high end pc to console. Today to run crysis in max settings @ 1080p a 500usd rig will be more then enough. Tech actually moves on, high end rigs today are needed for multimonitor gaming(aka resolutions 6-10 times higher then the current console hd standard. I personally game at 5760*1080) that's the kind of res high end is needed for. 1080p is now low end for pc.
Worst screenshot comparison i have seen. Terrible quality screenshots, huge compression and nasty pixellated sources. They have managed to make good looking games look fuu.uu..ugly. http://i731.photobucket.com... This is what Crysis really looks like...
They both look great but pc will always be better then console thats the truth, they update pc with new stuff every 6 months. But you got to give to crytek for macking crysis look really good on a 5 year old harware. Can not wait to try the final game:) Happy gaming.
Yes PC gets an update every 6 months lol we know. but even if you equipped a pc with a 3-4 year old gpu like 8800gtx it would be running crysis in high settings 1080p. 1080p is something consoles are yet to manage for any first person shooter. Its actually gotten to a point where newer powerful gpus now are only needed if people want to be playing on multiple screens. Otherwise 2-3 gen old gpus handle most games just fine at 1080p. Edit: 2-3 gen old gpus like GTX 260, 4870(which werent even high end when they launched) are enough to play 95% games today in 1080p. Only game that would give tough time to these gpus would have to be metro 2033 everything else is a walk in the park.
Well on settings very high with no aa you get abut 20 fps which is good Well my pc decent for now :P But crysis 2 does look good on a conssole which is 2 years older then the origanal crysis which came out in 2007
Crysis 2 on console is running at 720p (which reduces alot of the burden). Next it hardly has any AA. Also it looks like its running on med settings(crysis 1). Given that console hardware is about 5 years old, i think a 5yr old pc should be running crysis 2 in simular settings.
5 year old hardware? You talking about the systems, because if so crysis 2 doesn't even look that great. The way they were hypeing up the game to have the best graphics for a console game ever lolz.
Well we have different opinions and i think its looks very good :P Just have to wait and see and play the final game.
so can the PC fanboys stop bitching now?
No because we have legitimate reasons compared to PS3 fanboys screaming "KILLZONE 3 SHIIIIIITS ON THIS GAAAAAME!" "KILLZONE 3 BEST GAME 2011!" etc.
I hate these translated website On Topic: It looks good
This vs That... Cant we all just get along?
Yay UberSchnitzel again! I prefer Crysis 1
The lighting in crysis 2 looks better, but enviroment crysis 1 has more detail
Crysis must be on Medium or High Its not Very High that is for sure.
Not High. High looks almost as good as Very High.
I think they are trying to compare it fairly with the 360 version, lol... Still waiting for a real comparison.
Look at the very first screenshot: http://www.videogameszone.d... Check out the HUD of Crysis 1. It's so pixelated you can't even properly read the numbers in the bottom right. Talk about a biased comparison. Videogameszone has an agenda of course. It's a console website.
??? It wrote an article yesterday about how, graphically, Crysis 2 was a huge downgrade from Crysis 1 and a big let down from what the devs had promised... @Kon: It should do, they stated it would run even better than Crysis 1. Then again they also said it would be the best looking game on consoles.... @Below: Yup, and Crysis 1 still looks better (dude, I agree with you, Crysis 1 looks much better, lol) Crysis 2 doesn't use any (deccent) AA either. Perhaps they were trying to match the specs (0xaa, 720p) of Crysis 2 on the 360? They're hardly biased though, they think Crysis 1 looks better than the sequel...
Do you see how riddled with aliasing that screenshot (and the freaking HUD) is? That's caused by: 1) No AA in the game options 2) Nearest Neighbor resampling of the screenshot EDIT: Do they think it looks better? I quote, screenshot 3: <<The jungle in Crysis looked great as well, but we prefer the lighting of CryENGINE 3. Awesome, Crytek!>> I quote, screenshot 5: <<The detail on the buildings blows us away. Compared to the huts in Crysis this is a clear improvement. In motion it looks even better.>>
Im praying for my PC to run this game
That's like medium setting in Crysis, nice one.
Screenshot from my Crysis - http://i763.photobucket.com... Crysis is a fantastic looking game and although Crysis 2 will look great, it will never look as good as Crysis 1 because of the change of setting. I much prefer Crysis 1's setting...
It will also (console version) never look as good as exclusives can look.
@Bodster that's a better screenshot, I don't think anyone is saying that Crysis on high on a quailty rig isn't going to be better, but what this comparison shows us is that the Xbox-360 cis a very capable console and deserves it's respect.
It defo shows the the xbox 360 is more than capable of producing great looking games, it's just that the screenshots used were pretty aweful. There are a lot better official shots or even shots like mine, a gamer that is proud to play a game that looks as good as Crysis does :)
This is a screenshot from an above poster. CRYSIS 1 looks WAYYYY better than 2
run crysis on your pc with a mid ranged card @ 720P no aa then make a comparison to 360's crysis 2 then get back at me. you guys are in denial i'll keep saying it.. you refuse to acknowledge the work crytek has done on the console... you might as well make a comparison to a NASA computer .. exclusive or multiplatform studio/console doesn't matter .. its down to the developers and the engine.
