NowGamer: "Crysis 2 multiplayer has been touted as the ‘next big thing’, but how does it compare to Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2? We went online only to find ourselves a more than a little disappointed. Here’s why…"
Wow, even worse than CoD? Talk about being worse at the lowest standards.
His assertions are unbelievably laughable. Reason 1 - it's a mix of halo and cod. Well actually the reason he gives to explain this point is that people with armour mode take awhile to kill Reason 2 - limited Level design. You may be thinking this means the are linear? No, his point is that actually there are too many ways to get around, and this makes it a run and gunner rather than tactical like COD. WTF? Tactical like COD? Ok hes taking the piss... Reason 3 - cloak is unfair. Because cod is so well balanced ey? At least in Crysis 2 you start right from the beginning with the cloak so it's a level playing field, plus you start off with effective counter measures. The thing about Crysis is that everything is a trade off. If the enemy has cloaked, they have no suit energy left and so are easier to kill, where as if you werent cloaked you have heaps of power left and you can turn on armour, negating the advantage of surprise. Reason 4 - doesn't use cod points. cod points wouldn't work because Crytek are trying to enable people to unlock stuff suited to their playstyle earlier. Reason 5 - Energy is important. That is a straight out WTF. If anything this is better because you have to weigh up the pros and cons of your actions, which adds tactics. I may as well come back and say, CoDs sh** because health is important.
Reminded me a lot of Halo Reach! But keep in mind that this is a Beta, so a lot can change... hopefully!
I stopped reading when he said COD had good level design. I mean seriously..
I personally think the game is fun, and it looks pretty damn good, but there are a few tedious things in this game that just arent necessary...
Level design is limited? this is not the full game this is only 1 map rooftops. how can you say that? you havent seen all the maps/level designs yet.
oh forgot to add, level design its called realism not just some fake a** big box or barrel layin around the map, like cod games.
Crysis has the nanosuit system and unique weapons... COD is just a cookie cutter shooter.
The guy who wrote this is obviously an idiot in ways beyond comprehension. He is blind to logic and obviously a Cod fanboy. He doesn't deserve to even write stuff like this.
Well, he knew he would get hits if he put Crysis and CoD in the same title. This is the biggest reason, I'm guessing.
It didn't impress me, the lag and/or hit detection at times is horrid. Visually it didn't impress me as much as Bulletstorm and I didn't think that was all that. The Fony fanboys can rest easy with KZ3, neither these two will beat it.
Fony fanboys? Wow...you're so mature. Thank you, kind sir, for bring out a completely unrelated topic
I find it hilarious there's already so much love/hate for this game and its not even out yet. I would have expected at least a week after release but never this soon.
ill just check it out tomorrow . im sure there are weaknesses to invisible people and maybe some skill involved in using that one gun that is "useless" ..who knows. Cant trust some kid to tell me what sucks and what doesnt.
I haven't played the demo yet but after watching the videos my first impressions are mainly positive about the multiplayer. I really like that the usage of nano suite abilities costs energy. Because of this, one's success depends very much on his energy-efficiency. This vertically structured 6 vs. 6 map also requires players to be tactical. I think, people haven't played enough to form a negative opinion about the gameplay because everybody is in the learning phase. I have to play it too to be able to form a more valid opinion but as for me, this game has a lot of potential to become a great fun. We should give Crysis 2 and ourselves some time to befriend each other.
well said, some people are already calling the controls sluggish cause you cant twitch like that other shooter.. IGN called it LAG lol. Crysis 2 MP has an Identity of it's own
Haven't played the demo yet but in the videos I've seen, armour and invisibility look pretty gimmicky...
I FUCKING HATE THE CONTROLS!!!
The controls seem standard to me although a bit messy. But I'm getting used to it. Feels weightier than that P.O.S. call of duty so, I'm happy. All the armour and invisibility stuff though...meh. Bit of a gimmick. Not sure I like the HUD either :/ Not sure about you guys? I'm warming to the game though. Actually quite fun.
I actually liked the killzone 2 controls but this isn't suited right for this game. It takes forever to turn around and turning corners feels like I'm driving a truck. I can tell all they did was remap [email protected] to a controller. The game looks really good but everything els sucks balls. sound is worser then crysis 1. Im getting it on steam when its on sale because right not it sucks
A snippet from the article: "Where Black Ops maps can be navigated tactically" U mad?
Crysis 2 Multiplayer: 5 Ways It's Worse Than Call Of Duty more like Crysis 2 Multiplayer: 5 Ways I got slapped. Halo crossed with COD? tells you straight away the guy is a total noob. Lets face it, this guy probably jumped on the multiplayer which in this game is an unforgiving environment, were you think fast or you die fast. He played it for about 15 mins and got smashed by people who knew how to use the armour properly. "2 clips to kill"? yeah tends to play out that way when your just blindly spraying hoping for aim assist to save the day (COD noob). I bet he didnt even learn the game like how you can slide across the floor to avoid gunfire or how you charge your jump. I bet he sprinted around the map hard aiming at different points like hes playing COD then got his neck snapped by somebody invisable. Then all of a sudden invisability is unfair!! tell me this numbnuts how is it unfair when you have it aswell? noobs these days.....
WTF the demo regardless of how many crashes had fewer than cod at release lol and it was fun to play
"The fluidity of the graphics never lets up. Continuous 60 frames a second." Stopped reading here. WTF is the guy smoking?? 60 fps? LOL. If you still don't believe me and want to see for yourself, just pop in any CoD game and compare^) Though on the other hand, the motion blur Crytek decided to use looks good and really smoothens the gfx
This review is lame. The feature he mention being worse are just different. Armor abilities similar to Reach are all a matter of usage. Bungie is still tweaking them to get it right. Armor lock is still way over powered. Either way it is a new dimension to how the Reach maps are played and will be crucial to how the Crysis maps are played. However, the main difference is that Halo picks the loadouts for each map where as Crysis is available all the time in custom classes. I don't have a problem with the unlock system as it is more like the old COD where you have to level up a certain weapon to unlock that weapons new ability. I agree picking unlocks would be nice but not a requirement. Lastly, you can't trash the maps since it is a demo. I still look forward to seeing how the networking performs in full scale. That is the biggest flaw of COD and Halo. If they can close the gap on lag and host advantage problems people will enjoy it.
Did Activision pay this guy to do this crap? ( would not surprise me). Anyways I liked the demo I thought it was fun, yes cloak and armor is a little annoying but it's not a big deal I still get a lot of kills. I think the game is breath of fresh air rather than it being the same game every freaking year like COD. I'm not buying that garbage every year Acti/Bobby Kotick so go to hell. ps. BO does not run at 60fps on the PS3 <_<
