Joystiq: Having spent quite a bit of time with the first game on PC, I found myself in a far better position at the outset than most when suiting up for the sequel, Crysis 2, at a recent multiplayer preview event at San Francisco.
everyone seems to be enjoying the demo
The multiplayer is limited to 6-on-6? I guess that means I won't spend one second playing it. Not that this is a surprise, because the map in the multiplayer trailer looked ridiculously small.
exactly its about competitive multiplayer, means small teams and small maps. Halo and Call of Duty are some of the most popular and best multiplayer experiences and they are limited to those numbers. Bigger does not mean better, its about how streamlined the experience and mechanics are. This aint battlefield.
Well, I wouldn't expect the COD kids to understand. COD multiplayer is just as bad.
COD kids. Heh. It's quickly becoming a new insult to the player around the world. First, it was Xbox kiddies. Now this. Granted, there are kids or racist idiots or rednecks in some servers that doesn't stops talking but that doesn't mean all of the players are like that. Stop this unnecessary generalizing for the sake of defending your argument.
Call of Duty 4 is probably the best multiplayer experiences this generation on consoles. Hence why you can see the similarities in battlefield bad company 2, crysis and even killzone 3.
- http://www.youtube.com/watc... I'll buy this but BF3 will be mine all mine!!
I look forward to DEMO footage, the footage here is from the Beta, and quite frankly it's pretty poor looking. I see several sites downplaying the lacklustre graphics at the Beta stage by saying it's all about gameplay, however it's not like there is a lot of complexity to the surroundings and the MP is limited to 6 v 6. The MP is done by the former Free Radical guys, so it should be a lot of fun, however I really hope the visuals improve. The HUD looks minimalist and awesome.
the beta which was months ago was in alpha stage
Wasn't at all impressed from the multiplayer beta footage I saw tbh.
