Homefront may be about an occupied and conquered United States of America, but the creative director of the game thinks that its themes and values are universal...
Is that a White Castle burger place in the background of the picture? I hope we get to meet Harold and Kumar :) Anyways, almost all fps games are about Americans. I think if people from other countries can enjoy playing those, then they can enjoy playing Homefront. I wonder when they will make a FPS not entirely about Americans?
Metro 2033 wasn't about americans. 4A Games places all their titles in or around Russia. But other than that, I can't think of any.
Even in main fps' like cod and bfbc2 you have a lot of other countries in on it.
Do we get to play as the Koreans then? Burn!
The second they announce that a politician will complain like in Medal of Honor regarding the Taliban. Before you know it, "Korean Forces" will be changed to "Those Bad Guys."
I know what you mean, all that bullshit about "fighting for our rights and freedoms" for a military conflict where they're being invaded and attacked, and then the family members and politicians try and sensor games about it. Yeah, you say they're fighting and dying for our rights, but you take away our first amendment rights to fictionally portray the conflict. So, now, why exactly are they dying if it's not for our freedoms?
I wanna play as Luxenbourg! /s
Well if your not close minded you should enjoy it. Im Northern Irish and il probably like it :)
Who cares what nationality you play as?. This game reminds me of Haze. The devs went all drama queen over the story and it turned out to be one of the worst games in existence. Just give us a decent shooter that we can judge by gameplay and give the bullshit story a rest.
You know despite people not knowing what cgi was and thinking haze's trailer was the graphics of the real game I still had a fun time on that game. I'm not saying that it was great or anything. But it was a fun game to play for a bit.
Here we go again. Typical short-sighted consumer discouraging game developers from creating an interesting story. Stop trying to stop progress, man!
... Wasn't Modern Warfare 2 primarily about invaded US soil? Just sounds like hype-mongering.
Reminds me of a game called Freedom Fighter I played back in the Ps2 days
To this day, that is one of my top 10 favorite games of all times. Simple, but fun as hell. I miss that game!!!
Yeah, me too, they don't make TPS like that anymore, all we have today is over-the-shoulder aiming/ cover-shooters.
whats the point of this...why would anyone care what origin the game is based in? lol since when was this ever an issue in the past? wtf
Oh you know. Everyone has to rip on stupid stuff. If you can't find something to hate on then you start picking idiotic stuff. Either way, I see it as, I am this guy, I shoot that guy. END OF.
Any one remember that god awful game Turning Point : Fall Of Liberty, where in an alternate universe Germany invaded America. This time around it's the North Koreans. I don't know about you but the story has me intrigued. Hopefully the game play is equally as good.
The concept is really no different to Resistance : FoM. Except Insomniac based their game in the UK and against a non / previously-human enemy. Loved that game for its story and narrative. Homefront is a title I'm keeping an interested eye on. (they're both interested actually lol)
Im tired of the mojority of war games being set in america or playing as americans, its soooo lame!
